LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (May 15, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds roared to life Friday night at I-96 Speedway, and fans were treated to a thrilling side-by-side battle between defending track champion Jeff Reay and Casey Smith.

Reay, from Portland, started third and quickly found himself locked in a fierce duel with Smith as the pair traded momentum lap after lap for more than half the feature. The two drivers raced each other cleanly while distancing themselves from the rest of the field in one of the night’s most entertaining contests.

In the end, Reay was able to hold off Smith to score his first Close Racing Supply Eastern Region victory of the season.

Smith settled for second while Zach Sweet completed the podium in third. Mark Anderson advanced from the 10th starting spot to finish fourth, and Calvin Stemler rounded out the top five.
