STUART, Iowa (Apr. 29, 2026) — The 10th Annual Dynamic Drivelines Dirt Duel at Stuart Speedway witnessed Dillon Solum time a pivotal restart to perfection and drive away to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, earning his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win main event.

Miciah Hidlebaugh, the 2022 track champion, jumped to the early lead and built a solid advantage while last year’s Bill Davis Memorial winner Brad Derry battled Oregon transplant Solum for second. Solum, now based in Winterset after relocating from Redmond, Oregon, secured the runner-up spot on lap three and began to close in.

Solum applied heavy pressure on laps five and six, but Hidlebaugh held firm until a lap 11 restart changed everything. Solum perfectly timed the green and slipped past on the backstretch to take control before pulling away from the field despite multiple cautions in the closing stages.

Derry won a multi-car battle for second, while defending Boone Speedway Stock Car champion and three-time IMCA Super Nationals SportMod winner Jonathon Logue rallied from an earlier incident to finish third. Chris Pruitt was fourth, with Hidlebaugh credited in fifth.

The race served as a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifier, placing Solum on the eligibility list for the event to be run at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Ty Hill earned hard charger honors, advancing from 18th to eighth.

Carter Cruises to Second Career Dirt Duel Modified Victory

Cayden Carter put together a dominant performance to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, scoring his first Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season in the 20-lap finale.

After a caution on the initial start, the 2018 Harris Clash winner rocketed to the lead in the Joe Ferguson-owned No. 10C and never looked back. Carter, from Oskaloosa, set a blistering pace and maintained full control, even while navigating lapped traffic late in the race to score his second career Dirt Duel victory, his first since 2020.

Defending Dirt Duel winner Izac Mallicoat finished second, while four-time and defending track champion and 2007 IMCA Super Nationals winner Todd Shute was third. Jeremy Mills, the two-time reigning Razor Chassis North Central Region champion, edged 2019 California State champion Trevor Fitz for fourth.

The race was a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier, placing Carter on the eligibility list.

Colorado transplant Tripp Gaylord advanced from 13th to seventh to earn hard charger honors.

Sachau Dominates SportMods for Fourth Win of Season

Jake Sachau delivered a commanding performance to win the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod feature, scoring his fourth victory of the season and second at Stuart Speedway in the 20-lap, $1,000-to-win feature.

The two-time reigning IMCA Super Nationals champion, 2024 Stuart track champion, and Iowa State titlist jumped to the early lead and quickly checked out. Behind him, 2017 National Rookie of the Year Jacob Olmstead and 2019 Sport Park Raceway champion Hunter Longnecker battled for second before Ryan Jenkins settled into the position on lap six.

A lap 10 caution tightened the field, allowing reigning national champion Brayton Carter to surge into second on the restart. However, Sachau remained composed, navigated traffic, and pulled away to secure his second career Dirt Duel victory, his first since 2021.

Defending track and Iowa State champion Carter finished second, while Jenkins, aboard the Caleb Woodard-provided No. 131, was third. Olmstead placed fourth, and 2022 National Rookie of the Year and multi-time state and track champion Willy Kirk rounded out the top five. Mitchell Morris advanced from 21st to 13th to earn hard charger honors.

Kriegel Breaks Through for First Dirt Duel Hobby Stock Win

Briar Kriegel claimed his first career Dirt Duel victory in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, earning his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the season in the 15-lap main event.

Kriegel took the lead on lap one after battling Seth Butler early and never relinquished it. A caution on lap two reset the field, but Kriegel executed a strong restart and maintained control while steadily building his advantage.

2021 track champion Eric Stanton finished second, followed by Tom Killen Jr. Butler settled for fourth, and Derrick Rohe completed the top five. Wayne Gifford, the 2006 Boone Speedway track champion, advanced from 19th to 10th to earn hard charger honors.

Funke Holds Off Late Charge for Sport Compact Victory

Colbin Funke held strong under late pressure to win the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature, securing his second consecutive victory at Stuart Speedway.

Funke led early and built a steady advantage while Skylar Pruitt, a two-time Hobby Stock track champion at Stuart, made multiple attempts to challenge but was unable to complete the pass. Ryan Cheney moved into second on lap eight but soon had to contend with Johnny Thomas.

Thomas, the two-time reigning Beatrice Speedway champion and 2024 National Rookie of the Year, secured second on lap 12 and closed rapidly but fell just short at the line. Cheney and Pruitt, in the Jeremy Frazier-owned No. 91, were third and fourth, while Rece Hayes completed the top five. Thomas advanced from eighth to earn hard charger honors.
