JEFFERSON, S.D. (Apr. 24, 2026) — Friday night racing at Park Jefferson Speedway saw the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars steal the show for the third straight week, and this time it was Sioux City, Iowa’s Greg Peck who made the winning move when it mattered most.
Mike Vondrak paced much of the 18-lap main event, just as he had the week before, but was under constant pressure from a pack of drivers racing two- and three-wide behind him. Peck, who started sixth, methodically worked his way forward before making a late-race pass to score his first win of 2026 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.
Vondrak settled for second, followed by Lowell Roeber in third. Travis Baker finished fourth, and Todd Gereau rounded out the top five.
In the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sioux City’s Greg Taylor completed a clean sweep on the night, picking up his first win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Jimmy Cole ran second, followed by R.J. Merchant, Shane DeMey, and Ricky Stephan.
The Sunoco IMCA Late Models saw Crescent, Iowa’s Mike Collins, known as “The Joker,” charge from third to earn his first victory of 2026. Collins held off Cody Thompson at the finish, while Zach Zeitner came home third. Drew Baker and Jordan Krug completed the top five.
Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod action featured another strong showing from Salix, Iowa’s Willy Kirk. After starting seventh, Kirk raced his way to his second win of the season, both coming at Park Jefferson. Aaron Wiersma made an impressive run from 14th to finish second, with Karl Brewer third after starting 12th. Tommy Tanner and Rusty Montagne were fourth and fifth.
In the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, Emerson, Nebraska’s Cody Malasek led every lap to capture his first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the year. Steven Taylor charged from 11th to finish second, while Wyatt Johnson took third. Matt Rezac was fourth, and Zach Ankrum completed the top five after advancing from 12th.
Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact action saw Sioux City’s Tyler Thompson become the fifth different winner this season at Park Jefferson. Thompson raced from seventh to secure his first victory of the year. Levi Volkert finished second after starting ninth, followed by Brooke Osler in third. Mike Vogt and Kiegan Werner rounded out the top five.
The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch every lap again with the IMCA TV Replay Subscription, available for just $25.99/month. And don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
