CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Sept. 20, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars delivered the biggest fireworks at Central Arizona Raceway, where Bo Partain put on a show with a weekend sweep.
On Friday, Mitchell Ferguson looked strong in the runner-up spot until disaster struck when his left rear wheel came off, opening the door for Partain to dominate. Clay Erickson finished second with Larry Brigner third, while John Parmeley completed the top four.
Saturday’s feature again belonged to Partain, who checked out and never looked back. Erickson earned another runner-up finish, with Trevor Hidalgo third and Casey Murdoch fourth. Hidalgo ended the weekend as track champion, while Brigner secured the state crown.
Silber Sweeps Modifieds, Egurola Takes Track Title
Luke Silber left no doubt in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, checking out both Friday and Saturday to claim the Arizona State Championship.
Friday saw Michael Egurola Jr. run second ahead of Sean Stacy and John Parmeley. Saturday’s feature looked much the same with Egurola again runner-up, Parmeley third, and KC Dieckman fourth. Consistency carried Egurola to the track championship.
Tie-Breaker Drama Crowns DeRagon in Hobby Stocks
The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks brought the weekend’s wildest championship drama, with Nathan DeRagon and Reven Bitting entering Saturday just two points apart.
Friday’s race belonged to Tanner Benson after early leader Braxton Eichelberger spun in turn four. Benson drove to the win ahead of Bitting, Nick Biggs, and Scott Bernards.
DeRagon answered back on Saturday, pacing the field until late-race contact sent Bitting spinning with just two laps to go. On the restart, Charles McDaniel Jr. slipped by DeRagon and drove away to victory. DeRagon settled for second ahead of Mark Farnes and Bitting.
The championship tie-breaker came down to third-place finishes, giving DeRagon both the track and state championships.

Partain wasn’t finished after his Stock Car sweep — he also picked up two wins in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods.
Friday night, Partain advanced from fourth starting to take the win over Tyke Miles, Rex Hasley, and Eric Winemiller. Saturday saw him climb all the way from the sixth row to complete the weekend sweep, again topping Miles, with Tyler Johnson and Brandyn Johnson next across the stripe.
James Meile claimed the track championship while Braydon Whitfield secured the Arizona State title.
