Maquoketa Speedway Set To Host “All Star Classic” Sept. 19-20

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (Sept. 16, 2025) — The quick ¼-mile dirt track located on the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa is set to host the first of two major fall races. The Maquoketa Speedway will present the “All Star Classic,” promoted by Darkside Promotions, this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19–20.

Friday, Sept. 19, and Saturday, Sept. 20, will both feature complete programs with the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks, and the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

The final race of the season at Maquoketa Speedway will be held Oct. 16–18, when Darkside Promotions hosts the annual Iowa Dirt Nationals.

Camping is available on the Jackson County Fairgrounds, and reservations can be made by contacting Darkside Promotions.

For those unable to attend in person, all the action will be broadcast on IMCA TV affiliate Done Right TV.

Next IMCA Sunoco bonuses awarded at Davenport, Maquoketa

DAVENPORT, Iowa (Aug. 9, 2023) – Two more Sunoco Race Fuels bonuses are at stake this weekend, with IMCA Late Model drivers racing for extra money on Aug. 11 at Davenport Speedway and on Aug. 12 at Maquoketa Speedway. Drivers can receive the bonus from their division title sponsor one time in a season so the $250 would be given to the top finishing non-winning driver either night, if the winner has already earned the bonus at another track. Friday’s show at Davenport also features Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds running for $1,000 to win their Ronnie Weedon Memorial main event, with IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods completing the sanctioned portion of the program. In the lineup chute, they scan every competitor wondering if one will continue the streak. Gage Neal made sure of that Saturday evening. The Ely ace is no stranger to victory lane, but made it to Maquoketa’s for the first time in 2018. He became the fifth different winner in five races on the 3/8-mile dirt oval. Aikey’s new ride passes Deery Series test, Maquoketa checkers are tour career 69th

By Rob Hinckley MAQUOKETA, Iowa (June 18) – As Jeff Aikey drove the four-wide parade lap, he knew his car would be competitive. The 56-year old veteran put his fairly new ride to the test early in Tuesday evening’s 50-lap Deery Brothers Summer Series feature at Maquoketa Speedway. It passed the test with flying colors as he flew to the $2,000 IMCA Late Model tour victory. “I could go anywhere on this track,” the all-time Deery Brothers feature win leader said in victory circle after his 69th career win. “The track was prepared great.” Aikey rolled off third and had the point by lap four, passing pole starter Andy Eckrich. He drew away from a charging Joel Callahan for several laps after Callahan took second on lap 10. “Kruz Missile” Kepner Hits Target with PASS Victory at Selinsgrove

(Sept. 13, 2025) — Kruz Kepner doesn’t have much time to think about anything during the 10-minute ride from his home in Kreamer, Pa., to Selinsgrove Speedway, but he had a full week to think about being wrecked twice on the opening lap last weekend and wanting to erase the memory of that awful pair of races. His thinking — and his driving — did the job. Kepner scored his second Selinsgrove win of the season and fourth overall in River Valley Builders PA Sprint Series competition Saturday night, extending his lead in both the season’s PASS points standings and those for the track. Kepner started the feature in seventh and actually slipped back on the opening lap, but he quickly began to recover. Humblet Holds Off Hubbard in Virginia Sprint Series Thriller

(Sept. 13, 2025) — Chris Humblet made changes after his heat race that proved to be the right ones, as he flew to the win at Langley Speedway with the Virginia Sprint Series. Jerald Harris and Humblet paced the field to green, with Humblet jumping out first and Harris settling into second as Billy Hubbard quickly moved into third. Humblet stayed strong out front while Harris struggled with his tire choice, allowing Hubbard to get by and set his sights on the leader. As the laps clicked off quickly on the pavement, Humblet began working traffic, and with five to go, Hubbard had closed right in. With two laps left, Hubbard made a strong charge and got within a couple of car lengths, but that was as close as he would come. Humblet flashed under the waving checkered flag for his second win of the season at Langley, with Hubbard second and Matthew Leach third.

Weaver Wins Commonwealth Clash AST Feature at Lernerville; Kornbau Secures AST Championship

(Sept. 12, 2025) — The Friday portion of the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway featured the Allegheny Sprint Tour and attracted 20 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car competitors to the Sarver oval. Kasey Weaver of Everett, Pa., led from the pole and never looked back, scoring his first career AST victory at Lernerville. Meanwhile, Hermitage’s Jeremy Kornbau wrapped up his first-ever Allegheny Sprint Tour championship. Weaver lined up on the inside front row, alongside second-year driver Hunter Hite. Weaver jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green, while Hite slipped back as Roman Jones moved into second. Trouble struck early when Timmy Bittner slowed on the backstretch and retired from the event. By mid-race, Weaver and Jones traded momentum at the front, with Jones inching ahead before Weaver powered back around on the outside to retake command.
