KENNEDALE, Texas (July 29, 2025) — The IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals return to Kennedale Speedway Park on September 4–6, with three full nights of racing and more than $25,000 in total purse money. Now in its fourth year at KSP, the Southern SportMod-exclusive event has become a premier destination for top-tier talent in the division from across the region.
The road to the Super Nationals begins with the Prelude presented by Mike Frieri on Friday, August 9, an event paying $2,000 to win and $125 to start. While held nearly a month before the main event, the Prelude offers drivers a key opportunity to qualify for the All-Star portion of Super Nationals week. There is no online registration – competitors simply need their 2025 KSP season registration pay card and must pay a $30 draw fee at check-in.
Drivers who either compete in the Prelude or have won a 2025 IMCA-sanctioned Southern SportMod feature will be eligible for the All-Star qualifying heats on Thursday, September 4. The top 20 finishers will lock into the $1,000 to win, $100 to start All Star Feature, which runs Friday, September 5 after the completion of the Super Nationals double heats.
Three drivers secured All-Star Shootout tour feature wins this year and will receive provisional starting spots in the All All-StarStar main event if needed. Those drivers are Landon Capps, Jerrett Bransom, who won twice on the tour, and Tyler Russell. There is no entry fee for the All-Star race – eligible drivers simply show up and draw in. An open practice will run from 6–8 p.m. on Sept. 4, with racing at 8:05 p.m.
The grand finale – the $5,000 to win, $500 to start Smiley’s Racing IMCA Southern SportMod Super Nationals – takes center stage on Saturday, September 6, with last-chance qualifiers and B-mains filling out the feature field.
A fan vote and an auction spot will determine two provisional starters for Saturday’s main event. Only pre-registered drivers will be eligible for the fan vote, and both provisionals will receive $500 starting money.
Ray Allen Kulhanek won the 2024 Super Nationals, Dean Abbey topped the 2023 edition, and Marcus Mikulencak claimed victory in the inaugural 2022 running.
Early registration opens August 9 at the Prelude event for $90, while late registration begins August 24 at $140.
