Smyre Capitalizes Late for Sixth Carolina Sprint Tour Victory

(July 11, 2026) — Robert Tyler turned a front-row starting spot into a breakthrough victory Saturday night, leading all 25 laps to earn his first career Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis triumph at Sumter Speedway. After advancing into the redraw with a runner-up finish in his heat race, Tyler, of Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, lined up alongside Jake McLain for the start of the feature. McLain found speed around the cushion on the opening lap, but Tyler powered ahead on the bottom groove entering turn three to secure the lead. Once out front, Tyler delivered a flawless drive. He expertly worked through lapped traffic while never allowing McLain or the rest of the field to mount a serious challenge. The victory continued a breakout summer for Tyler, who recently earned his first career Sprint Car win with the Virginia Sprint Series. McLain finished second, while George Loux completed the podium in third. Josh Shantz crossed the line fourth, and hometown driver Derrek Treece rounded out the top five.

(Apr. 4, 2026) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis made its long-awaited return to Lancaster Motor Speedway on Saturday night, bringing a good crop of RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars to “The Big Half Mile” for the series’ first appearance at the track since 2015. Following the redraw, 2025 Kevin Huntley Memorial champion Dillan Baldwin and defending series champion George Loux led the field to green for the 25-lap feature. Loux wasted no time asserting control, jumping to the early lead at the drop of the green flag. The race’s first incident came on lap four when Pennsylvania’s Trevor Gach made contact with the wall in turn four, sending his machine into a dramatic cartwheel before landing back on all four tires. Gach was uninjured, but his night came to an early end. On the restart, Loux maintained command while a fierce battle for second unfolded between Baldwin and Biscuit Williams. (Mar. 28, 2026) — The Carolina Sprint Tour presented by GSR Chassis made its lone appearance in the Peach State Saturday night, bringing 18 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars to Lavonia Speedway for an action-packed program. Ontario, Canada’s Josh Shantz and Floridan Robbie Smith—making just his second weekend start with the series—led the field to green. Smith wasted no time asserting himself, grabbing the lead in the opening corners and quickly establishing control out front. A lap three incident involving George Loux and Dillan Baldwin brought out the first caution, though both drivers were able to continue. On the restart, Smith once again pulled away from Shantz and the rest of the field. The race’s second caution came on lap 20 when Ben McCall spun in front of the leaders. Another stoppage with two laps remaining, involving Chris Humblet, set up a dramatic finish. On the ensuing restart, Trevor Gach went over the wheel of another car and flipped in turn four.
