Southern Oregon Speedway to Host Inaugural $10,000 to Win Legends of Dirt Modified Shootout

WHITE CITY, Ore. (July 14, 2025) — Southern Oregon Speedway is proud to announce the inaugural Legends of Dirt Modified Shootout, scheduled for August 15–16. A special Test & Tune session will kick off the weekend on Thursday, August 14. The highly anticipated event will feature the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, with Saturday’s finale paying a staggering $10,000 to win and $500 to start.

This inaugural shootout is more than just a race—it’s a tribute honoring the memory of R. Charles Snyder, Bruce Rayburn, and all the people who helped build the soul of Southern Oregon Speedway. From longtime fans to first-time visitors, the event promises to rekindle the energy and excitement that defined the glory days of Pacific Northwest Modified racing.

Racers will be greeted with more than just a strong purse. Contingency awards are stacked across both days of competition. From hard charger bonuses and tough luck prizes to fuel cells, headers, tools, tires, and gift cards, participants will have plenty of ways to earn. Even the fans and pit crews will benefit—every one of the 14 Modified drivers locked into Saturday’s main event from Friday night will receive a free breakfast voucher, courtesy of Crackin & Stackin.

In addition to the prize money and awards, drivers from far and wide will be eligible for long tow recognition and fast time honors. Non-transfer drivers will also be included in the prize pool, underscoring the event’s commitment to giving back to grassroots racers who make the trek to Southern Oregon.

Fettinger wins again at Southern Oregon

By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. (July 21) – Racing into the lead from the start, Zach Fettinger scored his third IMCA Modified main event win of the season Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. In the process, Fettinger became the first driver to win more than two features in one season in the division since 2015. After taking the lead from Jimmy Lipke following a lap four restart, Tyler Rodgers went on to win the 20 Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature. He is the sixth different winner in six races. This was the first appearance at White City by the Chico, Calif., visitor.

Bailey impresses at Southern Oregon

By Don Martin II WHITE CITY, Ore. (Aug. 17) – Jesse Bailey scored an impressive win in the 25-lap IMCA Modified feature Saturday at Southern Oregon Speedway. Bailey made an impressive outside groove effort that gained him the lead late in the race. Not even in the top five with 10 laps left, Bailey began working the higher line before a lap 20 yellow flag bunched the field. On the restart, Bailey was making his a bid to move into second as another yellow flag flew. Andy Freeman led Bailey and Jeremy Richey on the ensuing restart. Bailey made a high pass in turn four of the 24th lap to finally get the lead and eventual victory. Jorddon Braaten won the 20-lap Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature from the 10th starting spot. Wild West Shootout takes IMCA Modifieds, Stock Cars, Northern SportMods to Oregon, Washington venues

WHITE CITY, Ore. (June 10, 2022) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds return to the top of the marquee for the June 17-25 Wild West Shootout. One thousand dollar top checks and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility go to Modified feature winners June 17 at Southern Oregon Speedway in White City; June 18 and June 21 at Cottage Grove Speedway; June 19 and 20 at Coos Bay Speedway; June 23 at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon; and June 24 at Sunset Speedway in Banks. Nielsen Nabs $1,000 Weishaar Memorial Hobby Stock Win

By Greg Grabianowski ALGONA, Iowa (July 17, 2025) – Brandon Nielsen parked it in victory lane during the Jess Weishaar Memorial Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature at Kossuth County Speedway on Thursday night, collecting a cool $1,000 for his efforts in the 25-lap main event. Grant Haugland and Jay Sidles led the 17-car field to green, but it was Sidles who held the point after the first lap. Just two laps later, Jade Lange took over the top spot before a yellow flag flew on lap five. A restart followed, and that’s when Nielsen made his move. Nielsen powered into the lead on lap eight and never looked back, only slowed by a caution on lap 13. Gaylord Edges DeVilbiss in .020-Second Photo Finish for Modified Glory at Marshalltown

Zach Rawlins led early before Zane DeVilbiss threw a slick slider to take command. But the show wasn’t over. Tripp Gaylord lit the fuse in the closing laps, slicing through the field and reeling in DeVilbiss after late cautions re-bunched the pack. Raynard Doubles Up to Defend Dirt Wars Crown in Hobby Stocks

By Ben Deatherage ESTEVAN, SK (July 20, 2025) — The second night of Riley Raynard’s Dirt Wars brought drama, dominance, and down-to-the-wire action to Estevan Motor Speedway. Despite weather threats, fans were treated to thrilling performances across six Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly divisions, with Diezel Raynard stealing the show in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks. The evening kicked off with a makeup Hobby Stock feature from Saturday. Brody Singleton paced the opening circuits, withstanding early pressure from Tyson Grinstead. A series of cautions interrupted the flow, but reigning Dirt Wars champion and 2025 Tougher Than Dirt Tour titleholder Diezel Raynard methodically carved his way forward from mid-pack.
