$5,000-To-Win Sibley County Stock Car Shootout Headlines July 30 Program at Arlington Raceway

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 18, 2025) — One of the richest midweek IMCA Stock Car specials in the Upper Midwest is set to take place Wednesday, July 30, at Arlington Raceway. The Sibley County Stock Car Shootout, held during the Sibley County Free Fair, boasts a whopping $5,000 to win IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature plus additional lap money and bonuses.

Presented by Justice Brothers and sponsored by Geib Well & Water of Arlington, the event also features strong paydays for the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks. The SportMods will race for $800 to win while the Hobby Stocks chase a $500 winner’s check.

The Stock Car feature offers even more than just the big check. Heat race winners will be paid, a Hard Charger award will be given, and the driver traveling the farthest to compete in the Stock Car division will receive a bonus. Additional random draws will be awarded following the main events, with mystery awards planned across all divisions.

All three divisions will run a draw/redraw format. Speedway Motors IMCA-sanctioned drivers will receive national, regional, and state points in all classes, while track points will be awarded in all divisions except for Stock Cars.

Pit gates open at 4:00 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5:00 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Admission is $20 for adults (12 & over), $10 for kids ages 6 to 11, and free for children five and under. Pit passes are $35.

The program is also supported by Neisen & Sons Excavating, B&B Racing Chassis, Froehlich Seeds, Arlington NAPA, Sunoco, Quality Refinishers Supply, Affordable Towing of Mankato, Ken’s Repair, and Alliance Insurance Agency.

2022 track champions rule at 2023 Arlington opener

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 20, 2023) – Last year’s track champions led the way to victory lane once again in almost all the feature events for the 43rd season opener at Arlington Raceway. There were 115 cars ready to compete in front of the stellar crowd. Cory Probst started 11th and was in the first spot by lap four in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature. A yellow flag was thrown for his dad in the 175C on lap two which enabled Cory to get ahead after the restart. He went onto lead the rest of the race with Chad Volk taking second and Tayte Harazin taking third ahead of brother Payton Harazin. Nate Coopman had command of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts by the third time around the track from his fifth place start. Alan Lahr started on the pole and managed to stick with Coopman and hold of Justin Dose, who took third. Double winner Looft avoids bad luck in Arlington’s turn three

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 29, 2023) – The number 3 was unlucky Saturday night at Arlington Raceway as there were three rollovers in turn three that resulted in considerable damage to as many cars. The first was in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock race on the first lap when Travis Manderfield’s drive shaft broke and sent him rolling off the track. He was ok, but out of the race. Then Blake Foesch had the misfortune of rolling after an axle tube broke after leading the first three laps and he, too, was out of the race. When the race got started again, Chad Volk took the lead for two laps but undefeated for the season Cory Probst moved forward each lap from his 10th place start and took over the top spot on the sixth lap. Hesse hauls to career first checkers at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (May 18, 2024) – Cole Hesse became a first-time winner, on a night of firsts Saturday at Arlington Raceway. The Gibbon hotshoe made the most of the lower line, made his way to the front of the field by lap five and then made his way to victory lane following his career-first Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod victory. “Definitely down low was fastest, and it seemed like (turns) one and two were better for me,” said Hesse, who would pull away to a two second advantage before the end of the race. “I’ve got one trophy now and hopefully I can add more. Mullen is King of the Creek at 141 Speedway

(July 17, 2025) –– Mike Mullen earned his third career Appleton Camping Center King of the Creek crown with the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at 141 Speedway on Thursday night. The victory was worth a cool $10,000 payday and marked his eighth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season, three of which have come at 141. Mullen earned the pole for the feature by virtue of his preliminary win two nights prior, where he charged from 10th to first. He capitalized on strong starts throughout the main event to build an early advantage over Benji LaCrosse and company. LaCrosse gradually chipped away at that lead over the course of the first 30 laps.
