Magers wins 2019 Arlington debut

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 3) – Dalton Magers raced to his third win in as many starts this season, and his first at Arlington in Saturday’s MN 93 IMCA Modified feature.

Ryan Bjerkeset was the early frontrunner before Magers took the low side going into turn two and came out ahead going down the backstretch.

Brandon Beckendorf from Danube was moving up and waiting to challenge Magers. He had to get around Trent Loverude to do so, but with a couple laps to go in the race Loverude took back his spot and finished second behind Magers. 

The Alpha Media IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature saw Trevor Serbus get out front and re­main the leader for the duration. Dan Mackenthun pulled away and went onto to take the B&B Racing IMCA Stock Car win. 

Matt Looft passed 11 cars on the way to the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod checkers and Cory Probst led from the fourth to the final circuit in the Eckblad Trucking IMCA Hobby Stocks. 

Scott Porter led the entire Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact feature. 

More than 100 cars and 49 go-karts were signed in for the Sibley County Fair show.

Schoknecht Shootout set this Saturday at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. – B&B Racing Chassis will be host to the $5,000 to win Schoknecht Shootout for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Arlington Raceway on Saturday, Sept. 28.  The third annual event is sponsored by Robinson Trucking and Robinson Repair and held in memory of Scott Schoknecht, a friend of many in the racing community. Several area businesses have contributed to the payoff for this special event on the final night of the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing point season. At stake in the IMCA Modified feature is a check for $1,000 to win and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth with the runner-up receiving $1,500. In true Schokecht fashion, he would often say “We go to the races to win first places” and the Modified driver who does so will earn the spot on the All-Star ballot. Johnson, Schroeder win green to checkered features at Arlington

ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 22) – Both the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car feature and the Karl Kus­toms Northern SportMod feature ran green to checkered Saturday at Arlington Raceway. Bill Johnson reeled in leader Jeremy Schultz en route to the Sprint checkers while Jason Schroeder raced from the third row at the start in winning his first Northern SportMod main of 2020.  The IMCA Modified feature saw three different leaders with Chad Porter and Clint Hatlestad run­ning up front before Brandon Beckendorf made his move on the white flag lap, edging past Hat­lestad to take the lead and the win. Brett McConnell took the lead on the second circuit and stay in front to the finish of the Mach-1 Sport Compact main event. Jeff Larson had the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car no one could catch while Cory Probst made his move to the front of the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock field the last time around the track.

Arlington IMCA Modified checkers fly for Magers

ARLINGTON, Minn. (July 9, 2022) – Dalton Magers found victory lane for the first time this season at Arlington Raceway Saturday night. Magers took the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified lead on the sixth lap from Rick Schroeder and stayed in front for the duration in the flag-to-flag main event. Chad Porter took second while Trent Loverude was third.  Payton Harazin led the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock field until the third lap when he encountered troubles and ended up in the pits. That handed the lead to Cory Probst. Chad Volk tried diligently to gain on Probst but ran out of time and settled for second.  Marschall Robinson led the first lap of the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature but soon Brett McConnell was side-by-side and managed to get by him to take over the race. McConnell then had to contend with Nate Coopman as the two battled for several laps, again maneuvering around lapped traffic.
