$1,269-To-Win Billy Maynard Memorial Set for July 18 at The Hill Speedway

MONROETON, Pa. (July 16, 2025) — The NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series returns to The Hill Speedway this Friday night, July 18, for one of its most meaningful and anticipated events of the season — the Billy Maynard Memorial, paying $1,269 to win.

The race honors the late Billy Maynard, a beloved fixture in Northeast dirt track racing, remembered for his passion, friendship, and dedication to the sport. Presented by Jake Maynard and backed by Middendorf Contracting and M.R. Dirt, the event has grown into a powerful annual tribute.

The Modified main event has seen a mix of winners over the years, including Brad Sites, Eddie Sites, and Rodney Morgan in 2024, with Keith Lamphere entering as the defending champion. All eyes will be on the 2025 installment to see who adds their name to the honor roll.

The Friday night feature is expected to draw a strong field of Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds from across the DeVilbiss Racing Eastern Region, competing as part of the NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series schedule. Fans can expect tight racing, emotional tributes, and a family-style atmosphere that honors Maynard’s legacy both on and off the track.

Another rookie finds NY-Penn IMCA Modified success at Woodhull

WOODHULL, N.Y. (Sept. 28, 2024) – Dalton Maynard sold out his crate sportsman equipment and joined the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified ranks for the 2024 Close Racing Supply NY-Penn Series presented by Insinger Performance season. The New Albany, Pa., pilot struggled a bit with the change, with good runs through the season but inconsistent results, as he learned the changes needed in set up and driving style. The S&S Custom Auto Body team showed up at Woodhull Raceway determined to pull out a solidresult in the MJH Oilfield-sponsored season finale and instead of a period, Maynard’s story ended with an exclamation point. After a second place finish in his heat race put him on the inside of the second row for the main, the rookie grabbed the lead on the second lap and fought off every challenge to record his first IMCA feature win, earning $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility as well. Morgan gets NY-Penn Series redemption at Bloomsburg

by Evan Canfield BLOOMSBURG, Pa. (June 19, 2022) – In the racing world, most drivers have that one big race that got away. For NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series driver Rodney Morgan, that race was Bloomsburg Fair Raceway in 2021. After leading much of that event, invader David Stremme slipped by Morgan late to take the win. Coming back to Bloomsburg on June 19th, Morgan was determined to get back the one he missed out on a year ago. Series points leader Keith Jack Lamphere set the pace for the beginning of the 25 lap feature, with Ray McClure starting to his outside. Once the green flag waved, Lamphere took the race lead. McClure faded back as Rodney Morgan slid up to second, bringing David Stremme and Brad Sites along with him. The caution waved on lap four as Shawn Bruce found the turn one wall. Round 2 takes NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series to The Hill

MONROETON, Pa. (June 4) – Round two of the NY-Penn IMCA Modified Series is tonight (Friday) at The Hill Speedway, with a top check of $750 on the line. Pit gates open at 5 p.m. with practice at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. Registration opens at 5:45 p.m. and closes when the drivers’ meeting starts. Pit passes are $30 and the IMCA registration fee is $20. IMCA sponsors Bob Harris Enterprises, Wilwood and PEM give certificate or product awards. The IMCA Modifed portion of the program is sponsored tonight by Lamphere’s Truck Parts and Insinger Racing Fuels. The feature pays a minimum of $75 to start.

Diercks Cruises to Wednesday Night West Liberty Checkers

By Mike McGuire WEST LIBERTY, Iowa (July 16, 2025) — With a little help from the weather, the Muscatine County Fair opened with a full night of racing on Wednesday. This was the first racing action the West Liberty Raceway half-mile had seen in 2025. The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature went all twenty laps caution-free. Spencer Diercks of Davenport would lead the entire distance and was never challenged in the race, finishing with a six second advantage over second place. The victory was Diercks’ eighth win of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Second through fifth was where the action took place during the main. Kurt Kile, with the home field advantage, finished in the runner-up position. Chris Zogg took third. Plummer Breaks Through with First SportMod Victory of Season Tim Plummer of Norway, Iowa, captured the win in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. Muth Masters Modified Midweek Mayhem at Cottage Grove

(July 16, 2025) –– Brett Muth thrilled his hometown fans with a determined 25-lap victory in Wednesday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Cottage Grove Speedway, the second race of the 2025 Midweek Mayhem Series. The triumph marked his second win of the season in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Muth grabbed the lead on the opening lap and looked strong early before the caution waved on lap two. When racing resumed, Kevin Williamson—the wheelman of the Superior Fuel Cells no. 42 machine—began chipping away at Muth’s advantage and caught him by lap 12. Rage 40 Returns to Fayette County Speedway with $2,000 Top Prize on July 24

The 40-lap special for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlines the evening program on the 3/8-mile oval and offers a $2,000 payday to the winner, with a minimum of $200 to start. Sponsored by West Union-based Rage Chassis, the race continues to honor excellence in the Modified division and consistently draws top talent from across the Razor Chassis North Central Region.
