Reid Claims Second Victory in the Tex Meyers 8-Ball Classic

NASHVILLE, Ark. (Jul. 5, 2025) — The 5th Annual Tex Meyers 8-Ball Classic, presented by Meyers Supply, brought fans together Saturday night at Diamond Park Speedway for a night of thrilling Stealth Racing IMCA STARS Mod Lite action and heartfelt remembrance. The event, held annually in honor of regional racing pioneer Tex Meyers, continues to be a cornerstone of the summer schedule — not just for the racing, but for the legacy it preserves.

Tex Meyers, who passed away in 2020 due to complications from COVID-19, was a pivotal figure in establishing Mod Lite racing in the region. His contributions, character, and dedication continue to live on through this special event.

Jace Reid once again etched his name in the history books, securing his second career win in the event and joining Blake Wilson as a two-time winner of the Tex Meyers Classic. Reid wheeled his entry from a fifth-place starting spot, working his way forward in a fierce back-and-forth battle with Wilson that had fans on their feet. Wilson settled for a close second in what was one of the most competitive features of the night. Chad Kirkpatrick finished third.

The victory marked Reid’s third win of the 2025 season, with two of those coming at Diamond Park.

The elder Wilson, Jeromy, earned Alban Automotive Hard Charger honors after improving five positions from 10th to 5th, collecting an extra $88 thanks to the generosity of Paul and Jenny Alban, who have supported this race year after year in honor of Tex and his family.

Wilson pockets Tex Myers 8Ball Classic cash

(July 2, 2022) – Blake Wilson repeated his performance, this time not so easily, in the second annual Tex Myers 8Ball Classic presented by Myers Supply Saturday at Diamond Park Speedway. Wilson was able to top a field of 27 IMCA STARS Mod Lite drivers from Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana en route to his second $888 payday in the second year of the event at the proclaimed Mod Lite Capital of the World. Wilson started on row two of the 25-lap affair and had some work to do early on, contending with TWR teammate J.J. Borden, Louis Harris and Jace Reid. Rollins stars at Diamond Park’s Mod Lite Mayhem

(May 29, 2022) – James ‘Big Daddy’ Rollins brought home the biggest payday of his career Sunday at the Diamond Park Speedway at the conclusion of the first annual IMCA STARS Mod Lite Mayhem.   Following the parade laps and pageantry, the field quickly got underway and Rollins went to work in the $3,000 to win headliner. After a few cautions and restart attempts on lap six, the field got racing action going with green flag laps until a competition caution for fuel only on lap 15. By that time, Codey Benoit, winner of the $1,000 ‘Prelude’ at Centerville Super Speedway on Friday, had quietly and methodically made his way from his seventh starting spot to third. Wilson wheels to victory lane in IMCA STARS Mod Lite Challenge Series

MURFREESBORO, Ark. (May 29) – Blake Wilson took his IMCA STARS Mod Lite to the winner’s circle from mid-pack on Saturday night at the Diamond Park Speedway’s second of five schedule Challenge Series races.  Early on, it was pole sitter Jace Reid who set the pace. Not to be out done, James Rollins and Jimmy Brown both battled for and at one point held the race lead.  Methodically, the 10th starting Wilson stalked the field and worked his way through traffic. Chance Hull followed Wilson, his starting row neighbor, toward the front and put himself in the mix for the lead at about mid-way until a caution came out for an airborne Charles Armstrong II on the front stretch.   By this point, Wilson had gotten to third with Hull in tow. On the restart, Wilson edged Rollins and set sail, never to be challenged again until a late-race caution but only for about half a lap.  The race was on for second  and ninth starting Chris Tucker blasted into the fray and challenged Rollins for second the final [Read More]
