Olson Doubles Up in Stock Cars at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa (June 1, 2025) —Tony Olson went back-to-back at Benton County Speedway in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars by winning the 20-lap feature. Riley Hanson took an early lead in a three-car battle for second place between Austin Schuring, Olson, and Dakoda Sellers. Johnathan Logue had now found his way into the top three. Olson worked the high line and into the top position. It was Olson who crossed the checkers first, followed by Logue, Sellers, and Hanson.

The Cedar Rapids racer started sixth and now has six wins in EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region action in 2025.

Fitz Rockets to First Modified Region Win of 2025

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds saw Trevor Fitz taking top honors. Patrick Flannagan and Fitz contended for the top spot early as Chris Zogg worked into third. Ethan Krall and Dennis Betzer had a battle for fourth. Fitz took over the top spot and began to pull away from the rest of the field as Zogg moved into second. By the halfway point, Krall had moved into third with Ben Chapman and Troy Cordes following. Fitz took the victory, with Zogg, Krall, and Chapman rounding out the top four.

It was the first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of the year for the Camarillo, California, native now residing in Marshalltown.

Wolf Wires the Field for First SportMod Victory of the Season

Will Wolf led the entire 15-lap feature in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods. From the pole position, Wolf took command of the event early. Tony Olson moved into second with Brett Thomas in third. Sam Wieben challenged Thomas for third as the laps began to wind down. Wolf crossed the line first, with Olson and Wieben following.

Wolf, from Lynnville, earned his first win of the 2025 campaign.

Hemsley Holds Off Late Pressure for Third Hobby Stock Win

The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock main event found Kale Hemsley in victory lane. Hemsley took command early as Justin Stander, Matt Brown, and Alex Yoerger went three-wide for second. Brown moved into second. Past the halfway point, Hemsley now had Stander on his bumper, with Brown following. Hemsley finished first, with Stander and Brown rounding out the top three.

The Sigourney native scored his second win of the year at Vinton, and his third win overall in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region.

Grady Grabs Sixth Win with Sport Compact Sweep

Cristan Grady took top honors in the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. Maddox Rowley took the lead early, but Grady quickly found the top groove and moved into the lead. Lukas Rick followed Grady and moved into second. Jake Anderson began to challenge Rick as the laps began to wind down. Grady took the checkers first, followed by Anderson, Rick, and Rowley.

The Cedar Rapids driver now has six wins in 2025, including two at Benton County Speedway.

During intermission the track held a huge candy dash for the kids to enjoy before the main events took place for the evening.
