WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (May 10, 2025) — Evan Miller showcased his mastery of the high line to score his first Sunoco IMCA Late Model victory of the season at 34 Raceway. Jeremy Pundt led the early circuits, building a comfortable lead before a caution midway through the $1,000-to-win, 25-lap main reset the field and erased his advantage.
Miller, the reigning Iowa State champion, capitalized on a mid-race restart to power around Jeremy Pundt on the high side, taking command on lap 14. A late caution with three laps to go bunched the field, but the Davenport driver maintained his momentum up top, fending off Curtis Glover to secure his first win of the 2025 season at 34 Raceway after starting fifth. Pundt, who led the early laps, rounded out the podium in third after a solid showing.
Anderson Scores Modified Victory
Logan Anderson added another impressive win to his 2025 campaign in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at 34 Raceway. The $1,000-to-win, 20-lap contest began with John Oliver Jr., in the Dennis La Veine fielded no. 05, leading the first eight laps before Anderson, the 2024 IMCA Super Nationals SportMod champion, charged to the front on lap nine.
Chris Zogg, the defending Iowa State and Razor Chassis North Central Region champion, moved into second and tried to track down Anderson in the closing laps. However, Anderson’s pace was too much, as he scored his fifth regional win of the season and third at 34 Raceway. With the victory, Anderson earned eligibility to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational to be held at the 2025 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
Zogg settled for second, while two-time defending Bill Roberts Jr. Memorial winner Spencer Diercks completed the podium.
Carter Makes It Three Wins in Three Nights in SportMods
Brayton Carter continued his red-hot streak in the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod division, picking up his third win in as many nights at 34 Raceway. The defending Iowa State champion launched to the lead on the opening lap and never looked back, enduring multiple restarts in the 20-lap main event.
The Oskaloosa driver claimed his ninth win of the season after holding off Dylan Van Wyk and 16th-starting Logan Cumby, who surged through the field to earn a podium finish. It was Carter’s second SportMod win of 2025 at 34 Raceway and followed triumphs at Marshalltown and Stuart earlier in the week.
Carter Edges Oliver in Epic Stock Car Showdown
Cayden Carter emerged victorious in a thrilling Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, fending off a determined John Oliver Jr. over the final laps to claim the $1,000 payday. Oliver, the 11-time track champion, led from the start but faced relentless pressure from Carter, piloting the Michael Peterson no. 1X entry, who used the high side to pull even on lap 16.
The two drivers remained side-by-side through the final laps, but Carter nipped Oliver at the line to earn his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season and first at 34 Raceway. Corey Strothman completed the top three.
With the win, Carter secured eligibility for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational at the 2025 IMCA Super Nationals.
