EAGLE, Neb. (May 3, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars delivered the race of the night at Eagle Raceway, with Mason Richards prevailing in a thrilling 20-lap showdown against Kyle Vanover. Trading the lead multiple times and battling door-to-door for much of the main event, Richards edged Vanover in a dramatic finish that had the crowd on its feet.

Vanover worked the high side to seize the lead on the opening lap before an early caution slowed the pace. On the restart, Richards rolled the bottom to briefly take the lead on lap six, but Vanover used the outside line to edge back ahead the following time around. For several laps, the two battled door-to-door, with Tyler Jackson entering the picture in third. Richards regained the top spot on lap 11 with a smooth run through the center while Vanover experimented with lower lines to stay in the fight.

With just two laps remaining, lapped traffic bunched the leaders back up and allowed Vanover one last chance. He exited turn four with momentum on the high side, but Richards had just enough to hold him off by half a car length at the stripe. Winning the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event the week before it was his first career Stock Car triumph in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Jackson settled for third.

Grossenbacher Wins Sprint Car Feature in Return to Eagle

Billy Alley and Nate Weiler dueled early in the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature, with Alley officially leading lap one. Trevor Grossenbacher steadily climbed to second by lap eight and began reeling in the leader as traffic came into play. On lap 11, Grossenbacher executed the winning pass to take the lead.

Joey Danley surged into second in the closing laps and briefly pulled alongside Grossenbacher before a caution with five to go reset the field. Grossenbacher was flawless on the restart and drove away to his first win of 2025. Danley and Alley were the rest of the podium.

Wayman Returns to Victory Lane in SportMods

Matt Andrews led the early circuits of the Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod main event before a lap 6 caution bunched the field. On the restart, defending track champion Cole Wayman blasted around the outside to take command and never looked back.

Despite a late caution setting up a green-white-checkered finish, Wayman executed a perfect restart and cruised to his first Eagle Raceway win of the year. Andrews held on for second with Adam Vrbka third and Noah Williams fourth.

Densberger Bounces Back in Modifieds

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature saw Chad Andersen lead early before Mike Densberger powered past him on lap 3. Densberger maintained a steady lead while Andersen and Bob Zoubek fought fiercely for second through lapped traffic.

A caution with four laps to go brought the field back together, but Densberger was sharp on the restart and went on to score his first win of the season in the Jet Racing Central Region, bouncing back just a week after a hard crash required frame shop repairs. Andersen and Zoubek were second and third.

Richards Doubles Up with Hobby Stock Win

Dillon Richards added to his growing 2025 win total with a commanding run in the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature. After running down early leader David Carter, Richards took control on lap 4 and never relinquished it.

Roy Armstrong and Carter staged a spirited battle for second before Armstrong pulled ahead. With two laps remaining, Neil Pella made a big move to slip into third, dropping Carter to fourth. Richards, who finished third the previous night at Park Jefferson, has now opened the 2025 season with back-to-back wins at Eagle Raceway. The victory marked his 17th career feature win, with nine of those coming in the B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region competition.
