Looft keeps plugging for career best payday at IMCA MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 22) – The driver with the most Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod feature wins plugged his way to his biggest win Tuesday night at Hancock County Speedway.

Matt Looft led all 30 laps of the MaxYield Seed SportMod Nationals from his outside row one start, outrunning Colby Fett following a late restart to take the $2,500 checkers. 

“That was the highest paying win I’ve ever had so that was pretty cool,” Looft said following career win number 175 in the division. “I finally got a good draw. I wasn’t quite sure where I needed to be but I kept plugging along in the same line.”

Running the top line in the first set of turns and the bottom groove in the second, Looft stayed in front following a couple key early restarts, first denying Jake Sachau then keeping Jared Boumeester in check. 

Fett passed four cars in making a big move to third and got to second on the restart with five laps left. He challenged the rest of the way but could not deny Looft the win. 

Looft’s best SportMod Nationals finishes had been fourth in 2017 and fifth in 2018. Tuesday’s win was also his third in his last three starts and eighth of the season. 

“It was a pretty good night,” said Looft, planning to display the latest addition to his trophy collection with all his IMCA national championship hardware. 

Fett had started 11th; Jayden Schmidt was also a plus nine on the night in finishing third. Shane Paris and Boumeester completed the top five. 

Hard charger Justin Klynsma raced from 24th starting to seventh. 

Nick Meyer and Troy Swearingen both won for the second time this season at Hancock County in the IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Josh Sidles’ IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock victory was his fourth of 2021 at Britt. Jaedon Erickson was the Mach-1 Sport Compact winner.

IMCA Modified stars shine at Hancock County Aug. 13, 14 specials

BRITT, Iowa – All roads lead to Hancock County Speedway for a pair of the biggest IMCA Modi­fied events of the season, the Aug. 13 Night of 1,000 Stars and Aug. 14 Night of 10,000 Stars.  Modifieds race for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start on Thursday, and for $4,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start on Friday. Anderson takes tall trophy, big check from Hancock County’s IMCA SportMod Nationals

BRITT, Iowa (June 13, 2022) – Logan Anderson has a tall trophy and a big check to show for his first-ever visit to Hancock County Speedway. Anderson took over the front spot following a lap nine restart, then ran away from the field in winning the 30-lap Landus Cooperative IMCA SportMod Nationals and $2,500 Monday night at Britt. The last 15 laps of the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod main event stayed green. IMCA Modified stars will shine at Aug. 8-10 Hancock County Speedway specials

BRITT, Iowa – The stars of the IMCA Modified galaxy shine on three consecutive rich nights of racing at Hancock County Speedway. The Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, Aug. 8 pays a guaranteed $3,500 to win and $250 to start, plus a bonus of $1,000 to the leader at halfway and another $1,000 if the winner has perfect attendance at Britt this season. Winning the Night of 10,000 Stars on Friday, Aug. 9 pays $7,000, plus $1,000 bonuses to the halfway leader, for perfect attendance and for having won on Thursday as well. A minimum of $300 will be paid to start that main event.  And the Saturday, Aug. 10 Bob Shryock Memorial All Stars pays $3,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to start.  Thirty cars start three-wide in 50-lap main events on Thursday and Friday.
