King of the Highbanks rained out

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 18, 2022) – Two IMCA drivers with a knack for coming up big when bigger checks are on the line did so again during a rare Wednesday night show at Marshalltown Speedway. Tom Berry and Chanse Hollatz both took rich checkers during Castrol FloRacing Night in America at the fabled High Banks.  Berry’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory was his fourth $1,000 victory since April 10; Hollatz has now banked $1,000 following six of his 2022 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car wins.  Richie Gustin looked to be poised to take the checkers in the 20-lap Modified feature, leading from the drop of the green as he out distanced Berry and Cayden Carter. HARCOURT, Iowa (July 19, 2024)  – When Grandma Cindee Broemmer updates the notes she keeps on Tim Ward’s racing results, she’ll have to highlight his July 19 finish at Marshalltown Speedway. Ward won for the 100th time in his Friesen Performance IMCA Modified career Friday night at Marshalltown, adding to an already impressive resume that already includes IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s, Harris Clash, Clash at the Creek and Dakota Classic Tour titles. “This is big. It was cool to finally be able to celebrate it,” said Ward, an Arizona transplant now living in Harcourt, Iowa. “I was excited as much as I was relieved to finally get it. By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (May 3, 2024) – After two prior weeks of rainouts at the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway, the third time was the charm, and the regular points season got underway for the UAW Local 893 Cliff Chambers Memorial. One hundred and fifty-eight cars were on hand for the evening’s program. Tripp Gaylord took the honors in the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified division and it was Jeff Mueller taking the win in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Calvin Dhondt took the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock feature in a thrilling event. Matt Avila led flag to flag in the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and Jon Padilla dominated in the IMCA Stealth STARS Mod Lites. Also on tap were the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts, and Mitchell Bunch won out in a tight back and forth contest. Feature racing kicked off with the Mod Lite 15-lap feature.
