JEFFERSON, S.D. (Aug. 11) – On a beautiful night in the Siouxland, it was the beautiful white number seven IMCA Modified of Jay Noteboom rolling into victory lane at Park Jefferson Speedway.
With his win, Noteboom tied Joe Kosiski at the top of the all-time win list at the Park Jefferson Speedway with 73 total checkers.
There was no denying Noteboom, who started sixth, but in just two laps flew by front row starters Jason Schneiders and Harvey Vande Weerd to fly to a lead he would never relinquish. Noteboom opened a huge lead that was up to 8.5 seconds at one point.
Greg Taylor was the J&J Fitting IMCA Stock Car winner and Andy Hoffman posted a convincing victory in the Z98 IMCA Hobby Stock main.
Cody Thompson outran hard charger Karl Brewer for the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod checkers. Andrew Harris and Kaytee DeVries had a spirited battle to wrap up the Sport Compact point season at Park Jeff. Andrew Harris, who was dominant all year, got past DeVries to pick up his sixth Mach-1 Sport Compact win of 2018.
On Park Jefferson Intern night, a huge shoutout went to 2018 intern Aaron Van Voorst, who coordinated the entire program of candy toss, car ride alongs for kids, bike giveaways and school supplies to thrill the crowd on season championship night.
JEFFERSON, S.D. (Sept. 14-15) – Gold and silver place finishes made Brandon Beckendorf the IMCA Modified champion at Park Jefferson Speedway’s fifth annual J&J Fitting Iron Cup Championship Night presented by I State Truck Centers. Beckendorf used multiple grooves to race from his 10th starting spot and win the Friday night feature, and $1,000. Already on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, he took the checkers ahead of Jim Thies and Bob Moore. Moore battled back to regain the lead from Beckendorf in winning the Saturday feature, earning $1,000 and the All-Star ballot berth. Third was Sean Barragan. Also scoring $1,000 wins on night two were Dusty Ballenger in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Elijah Zevenbergen in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. JEFFERSON, S.D. (April 25, 2024) – Fans at Park Jefferson Speedway got to see one of their own in victory lane when IMCA Sunoco Late Models made their triumphant return to South Dakota. Sioux Falls native and now Silvis, Ill., racer Evan Miller passed Jesse Sobbing and then Keegan Nordquist late in Thursday night’s 25-lapper to earn the $1,000 Titan Clash payday. The checkers came in the first IMCA Late Model event held in South Dakota since 2007, the summer before Miller started second grade. “It’s pretty awesome,” said Miller, who’d taken the day off work to make the almost 400 mile tow and became the national points leader with the win. “We’d started thinking about making this race right after Park Jefferson posted about it and we really wanted to come back and race in front of family and sponsors we have here.” The win came in his fourth start of the season. Opening night Friday, May 13 for the Rushmore State Wide Open Tour is at Wagner Speedway with the Saturday, May 14 show at Park Jefferson Speedway and the Sunday, May 15 finale at The New Raceway Park. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars both race for $1,000 to win, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks both for $400 to win and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts for $200 to win each night. Modified feature winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational while Stock Car winners become eligible to qualify for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.
