Dubuque checkers fly for Callahan

DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 3) – Joel Callahan topped the strong field of IMCA Modified drivers in in scoring the 20-lap feature win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway.

Callahan took the lead near midway and held off Tyler Madigan at the checkers.

Troy Bauer followed up a feature win at Farley Speedway on Friday night with another victory in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Bauer took the win over always tough Tyler Soppe.

Sunday, June 10 will be Fan Appreciation night at Dubuque with everything half price, including admission and all concessions. In addition, a pre-race car show will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. All kids will be given autograph books courtesy of the Richardson Motors Kids Club. Drivers will have cars on display and will be signing autographs prior to the races.

Sunoco bonuses awarded at Independence, Dubuque this weekend

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 1, 2023) – Sunoco Race Fuels bonuses will be awarded when IMCA Late Models hit the track for big events this weekend at Independence Motor Speedway and at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway. The divisional title sponsor awards $250 bonuses to feature winners on Saturday, June 3 during the Hall of Fame Night show at Indee and Sunday, June 4 on Fan Appreciation Night at Dubuque. Drivers can get the bonus one time in a season; the $250 will be awarded to the top finishing non-winning driver any night the winner has previously received the bonus. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow Saturday at Independence, where pit passes are $30 for adults, $15 for kids ages 6-14 and free for five and under. Switch in lines pays off for Callahan

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (July 7) – A change of plans for Joel Callahan. The Dubuque veteran switched lines on the fly and took the Eichman’s Bar and Grill IMCA Late Model 25-lap feature Sunday evening on his home track. “I thought it would be a top side track, but that changed,” Callahan said in Dubuque Speedway’s Hoker Trucking/C&W Trucking/Kam Koncepts Victory Circle. “It got treacherous up there so we hooked up down low.” Callahan rolled off fifth and quickly moved into the fray for the point. He moved past Ron Klein on a late restart en route to the win. Luke Goedert also found the bottom to his liking and took second late. Klein, Jeremiah Hurst and Luke Merfeld followed. Dubuque Deery date rescheduled for April 28

DUBUQUE, Iowa (April 15) – The new date for the Deery Brothers Summer Series show at Dubuque Speedway is Sunday, April 28. Postponed from April 14, the main event for touring IMCA Late Models pays $2,500 to win and a minimum of $300 to start and headlines the Hershel Roberts/Ray Guss Sr. Memorial program originally scheduled last Saturday at Maquoketa Speedway. The April 13 show lost to low temperatures will not be rescheduled. Also running at Dubuque will be IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods for national, regional, state and track points, along with a local 4-cylinder class. Beckendorf Wins Thriller, Thornton Claims Overall Title in IMCA Modifieds

(Jan. 31, 2026) — Brandon Beckendorf captured a dramatic victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature during the eighth and final night of the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis IMCA TV Winter Nationals powered by Pitt Stop Motorsports and Dynamic Drivelines at Central Arizona Raceway, edging out defending Winter Nationals champion Ethan Braaksma in a late race finish. Braaksma jumped to the early lead in the Trent Guest and Danny Meier-owned no. 111 and set the pace through early cautions. Beckendorf, the 2018 Razor Chassis North Central Region champion, stayed within striking distance and began closing in just past the halfway point as lapped traffic came into play. Baca Charges Late to Capture Night Seven Modified Thriller at IMCA TV Winter Nationals

(Jan. 30, 2026) — A dramatic late-race surge lifted Chaz Baca Jr. to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature during the seventh night of the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis IMCA TV Winter Nationals powered by Pitt Stop Motorsports and Dynamic Drivelines at Central Arizona Raceway. Three-division Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s winner Dylan Thornton jumped to the lead on the opening lap after overtaking two-time Sweetwater Speedway champ Bryson Yeager. Pressure mounted immediately as Baca moved into second on lap two and began challenging Thornton following an early caution. The two raced side-by-side for several circuits before Baca edged ahead at the stripe on lap six.
