Dubuque checkers fly for Callahan

DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 3) – Joel Callahan topped the strong field of IMCA Modified drivers in in scoring the 20-lap feature win Sunday at Dubuque Speedway.

Callahan took the lead near midway and held off Tyler Madigan at the checkers.

Troy Bauer followed up a feature win at Farley Speedway on Friday night with another victory in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. Bauer took the win over always tough Tyler Soppe.

Sunday, June 10 will be Fan Appreciation night at Dubuque with everything half price, including admission and all concessions. In addition, a pre-race car show will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. All kids will be given autograph books courtesy of the Richardson Motors Kids Club. Drivers will have cars on display and will be signing autographs prior to the races.

$250 Sunoco bonus highlights races in Dubuque this Sunday night

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Extra money is on the line for the winner of Sunday’s main event for IMCA Sunoco Late Models at Dubuque Speedway. The fourth $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the June 6 Late Model winner in Dubuque. Sunoco bonuses will be presented at Late Model sanctioned tracks again this year. Drivers are eligible for one bonus during the 2021 racing season. Winners so far this year are Matt Ryan at 300 Raceway in Farley, followed by Sean Johnson at Independence Motor Speedway and Andy Eckrich last Saturday night at 34 Raceway in West Burlington. IMCA will announce mid-week before the dates bonuses are to be awarded at each track. The grandstand opens at 4 p.m. and general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors 65 and over, $6 for students 13-17, and 12 and under get in free with a paid adult. Racing is set to get underway following 6 p.m. hot laps.

Gansen among Dubuque season championship checkers

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (Aug. 25) – He tossed another helmet tearoff as the white flag flew. Matt Gansen’s car made it that final lap as he won the 20-lap Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modified Season Championship feature Sunday evening at Dubuque Speedway. “The car started to overheat and steam was hitting my faceshield,” a jubilant Gansen said. “I was using a tearoff every lap. I didn’t know what was going on on the track.” Gansen moved by early leader Jaden Fryer after several side by side laps on lap nine and extended the advantage. “It looked like (Fryer) was staying on the bottom and we were fast enough up top,” Gansen added. “I wasn’t sure if he would figure something else out so wanted to make the move.” Tyler Madigan also passed Fryer late. Hurst hoists winner’s trophy at Dubuque

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 12) – He tried high and low. The latter worked in the end for Jeremiah Hurst. The Dubuque ace slid by early leader Terry Neal after a caution and won the 25-lap Eichman’s Bar and Grill IMCA Late Model season opener Sunday evening at Dubuque Speedway. “They (his crew) were down at the turn waving me to stay low and it worked,” the defending national champion said from Hoker Trucking Victory Lane. “The car was great. The track was great. It was a special night.” The track, under new promoter Trackside Promotions, finally got the opener on the fifth try due to bad weather through April and first weekend of May. Tocci Rallies from Sixth to Win Hall of Fame Night Feature

(July 18, 2026) — Jordan Tocci raced from sixth to the front to score the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature during Electric City Racing Hall of Fame Night at Electric City Speedway. The Three Forks driver steadily worked his way through the field before taking command and driving to his first victory of the season at the historic 3/8-mile oval. The win was also his fourth of 2026 in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region. Points leader Ty Clemens put together an impressive charge of his own, advancing from ninth to finish second. Cory Craver, who started alongside the pole sitter, completed the podium in third. Archibald Breaks Through for First Antioch Stock Car Victory

By Candice Martin ANTIOCH, Calif. (July 18, 2026) — Jake Archibald of Oakley collected his first career Antioch Speedway Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature victory Saturday night, leading all 20 laps. Archibald, who also won his eight-lap heat race, led Blaze Hill across the opening lap before the first of only two cautions waved for Scott Foster, who spun in turn four. Archibald maintained the lead on the restart as Jason Robles of Rio Vista moved into second ahead of Clarence Holbrook III of Galt. Dave Hill of San Francisco used the low groove in turn four on lap four to take third. By lap 10, Archibald had stretched his advantage to nearly half a straightaway over Jason Robles before the final caution waved on lap 12 for Blaze Hill. Dave Hill headed to the pits during the stoppage, leaving Archibald to lead Jason Robles and Kenneth Robles back to green. Probst Charges From 10th for Arlington Hobby Stock Victory

(July 18, 2026) — By the time feature racing began Saturday night at Arlington Raceway, the track had slickened off through the middle while still allowing plenty of side-by-side racing. The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature showcased those conditions, with Dan Scharpe leading the opening lap before a thrilling three-wide battle over the closing laps saw Cory Probst charge from 10th starting to score the victory. On lap two, Taylor Manderfield spun entering turn four and collected Patrick Schauer to bring out the caution. Jordan Robinson grabbed the lead on the restart while Cory Probst and Austin Jahnz quickly joined the battle. Jahnz briefly led at the halfway point before Robinson regained the advantage the following lap. With three laps remaining, the leaders raced three-wide down the backstretch as Probst powered to the outside of Robinson while Jahnz challenged on the inside.
