Ebert graduates to victory lane

Jason-Ebert-Modifed — Jason Ebert accepted his high school diploma, then went to the track and won the Saturday feature for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Shawano Speedway.

SHAWANO, Wis. (May 26) – It was a day to remember for Jason Ebert.

During the afternoon, Ebert walked across the stage as he graduated from Clintonville High School. In the evening, Ebert raced to victory lane in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Shawano Speedway, ending Lucas Lamberies’ three-race win streak.

Bryce Clements took the early lead while being challenged by Ebert, who was able to make the pass for the lead on lap four.

Through the remainder of the race, Ebert was pressured by Kyle Raddant and Lucas Lamberies. Ebert fended off all comers as he scored his first win of the year. Lamberies, Raddant, Jordan Barkholtz, and Jason Jach rounded out the top five.

Kevin Feck won his first local IMCA Modified feature while Travis Van Straten was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victor.

Familiar faces in familiar places at Shawano

By Don Rouse SHAWANO, Wis. (May 20, 2023) – On a gorgeous Saturday evening the newly redesigned victory lane at Shawano Speedway powered by Auto Select saw many familiar faces return for week two. Unfortunately, one familiar face we won’t see but will always be here is Donna Dorn who lost her battle to cancer. Her presence and compassion for her favorite drivers and track will forever be with us. In the early laps of the feature for the class called Too Tough To Tame, several IMCA Sunoco Stock Car drivers found out how tough it was. A nasty crash on the backstretch found Anthony Kotula, Kyle Fredrick, Dan Michonski, Brad Nelson, Jordan Barkholtz, Mitch Stankowski, Tyler Welch all tangled in a wreck. As the caution came out and safety crews attended to the drivers involved with no reported injuries to the drivers there sure was a lot of twisted up sheet metal on the cars involved in the crash. Wilinski, Forstner, Schmidt are IMCA winners at Shawano

SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 8) – The 2019 Shawano Speedway track champions were honored Saturday as part of the Night of Champions. The action on the track that evening saw the 2020 points battle heat up while heading towards the season’s end. In the IMCA Modified feature, Shawn Frelich and Jesse Peebles led the field to the line. Peebles grabbed the early advantage while Konnor Wilinski began his move forward after starting eighth. Wilinski captured the top spot a few laps later. Wilinski began to pull away as Marcus Yarie and Lance Arneson gave chase. As the top three worked themselves free of the pack, Lucas Lamberies was slicing his way through the field. Wilinski proved up to the challenge, grabbing the feature win with Yarie finishing second. It only took Chucky Forstner a couple laps to take the top spot in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Yarie, Schmidt, Christians cruise to Shawano wins

By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (June 5) – While last week was the unofficial start to summer, the weather took a week to catch up. Marcus Yarie, Jeremy Christians and Jayden Schmidt all beat the heat and their respective fields to find victory lane Saturday at Shawano Speedway. The IMCA Modifieds saw Yarie power past Marcus Hoeppner and Kevin Feck in the early laps to grab the top spot. Behind Yarie, Wyatt Block was trying to get into the battle for his second straight feature win as he got by Feck for the runner-up spot as Hoeppner slipped to fourth. Jordan Bartz charged to fifth but ran out of laps in the quest for more. Christians decided he’d be the one to steal the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car spotlight. Christians motored to the front early and never looked back as he picked up another win in The Class Too Tough To Tame. Tathan Burkhart Grabs Stock Car Victory at WaKeeney

By Sheldon Wickwar WaKEENEY, Kan. (Aug. 15, 2025) — Kyle Pfeifer and Drew Miller led the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car field to the green for their 20-lap main event at WaKeeney Speedway. Pfeifer jumped out early, but Tathan and Troy Burkhart quickly worked past Miller to join the fight at the front. The battle shifted when Pfeifer spun in turns one and two, collecting Troy Burkhart in the process, forcing both to pull off early. Modified driver Dylan Sherfick also exited the race. Once in clean air, Tathan Burkhart was untouchable. He set the pace for the remainder of the feature and collected his seventh win of the season in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Harris Hauls at the Bridge

(Aug. 16, 2025) — On a hot summer night, the real heat came from Jerald Harris, who swept the evening in RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car action with the Virginia Sprint Series at Natural Bridge Speedway. Harris won his heat, then capped it off by dominating the feature for his first victory of the season. Jerald Harris and Chris Humblet led the field to green, with Harris jumping out first and Humblet giving chase. Behind them, Dylan Shatzer, Matthew Leach, and Mike Leraas staged their own battle inside the top five. Harris built a strong lead until a quick spin brought the field back together. On the restart, Harris once again blasted away, leaving Humblet, Shatzer, and Leach to sort out the positions behind him. Looft Snatches Arlington Stock Car Victory in Last-Lap Thriller

By Susan Allen ARLINGTON, Minn. (Aug. 16, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Arlington Raceway delivered a breathtaking finish in a caution-free main event. Chris Neisen jumped out front from the pole and dominated the early laps before Ken Tietz charged from fifth to seize control by lap 12. Tietz looked strong as Matthew Looft and Dan Mackenthun closed in during the closing circuits. On the final lap, the top three stormed into turn four nearly three-wide. Tietz led into the corner, but Looft dove low while Mackenthun swept high. At the line, it was Looft who emerged first for his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region win of the season, both at Arlington. Mackenthun grabbed second with Tietz in third.
