Ebert graduates to victory lane

Jason-Ebert-Modifed — Jason Ebert accepted his high school diploma, then went to the track and won the Saturday feature for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Shawano Speedway.

SHAWANO, Wis. (May 26) – It was a day to remember for Jason Ebert.

During the afternoon, Ebert walked across the stage as he graduated from Clintonville High School. In the evening, Ebert raced to victory lane in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Shawano Speedway, ending Lucas Lamberies’ three-race win streak.

Bryce Clements took the early lead while being challenged by Ebert, who was able to make the pass for the lead on lap four.

Through the remainder of the race, Ebert was pressured by Kyle Raddant and Lucas Lamberies. Ebert fended off all comers as he scored his first win of the year. Lamberies, Raddant, Jordan Barkholtz, and Jason Jach rounded out the top five.

Kevin Feck won his first local IMCA Modified feature while Travis Van Straten was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victor.

Whitman tops season opener at Shawano

(May 5) – One hundred forty-three racers were on hand to open the 2018 season at the Shawano Speedway on Saturday and Johnny Whitman won the IMCA Modified lidlifter for the second year in a row. Joey Taycher kicked off the Modified feature by grabbing the lead on lap one. Whitman took the top spot on lap two and instantly began to pull away while Mike Mullen and Marcus Yarie began working their way through the pack. By mid-race, Whitman had built up nearly a full straight away lead as Mullen moved to second on the track after a pass on Taycher. Lap after lap Whitman led as Mullen inched closer. As the white flag flew, Mullen had cut Whitman’s lead to a few car lengths. As the leaders dealt with lapped traffic over the final circuit, Mullen was glued to Whitman’s rear bumper entering turn three. Arneson treats himself to Shawano checkers

(July 14) – Lance Arneson secured his first IMCA Modified win of the year with a last-lap pass of Wyatt Block when Shawano Speedway celebrated Halloween at the Half Mile on Saturday night. Ageless Jerry Muenster led lap one before his son Eddie made an outside pass to take the top spot. Block raced past Jerry for second by lap five and set his sights squarely on Eddie. Block got underneath Eddie on lap eight to take the lead. Arneson was moving quickly toward the front and as Block took the white flag, Arneson went to the high line and found an advantage. The pair raced door-to-door through turns three and four. Arneson pulled ahead as they approached the checkered flag to score his first win of the year. Ritchie records first Shawano IMCA Modified win

(Aug. 18) – Justin Ritchie has won a number of features at Shawano Speedway, but the former late model track champion scored his first IMCA Modified feature Saturday night. Cautions plagued the start of the event, but once the race got going Tim Rothe took the lead. Ritchie pursued Rothe until lap three when he made an inside pass to take the lead. As Ritchie led, the action was hot and heavy behind him as Jason Czarapata, Lance Arneson and Wyatt Block all came from deep in the field to battle for second and third. In the end it was Ritchie making his way to victory lane followed by Czarapata, Block, Arneson and Konnor Wilinski. Mitch Stankowski returned to victory lane after some time away from the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car division. Lucas Lamberies raced to his seventh local Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victory of the year ahead of Tyler Sobiesczyk, who finished a career-best second.

Rain Washes Out Williston Features; Wednesday’s Round Four Moved to Mandan

(July 7, 2026) — Rain disrupted the third round of the 2026 Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric on Tuesday night at Williston Basin Speedway and has forced a schedule change for the remainder of the week. Tuesday’s program at Williston Basin Speedway completed all heat races and B Mains before heavy rain arrived just prior to the start of the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, preventing the remainder of the evening’s racing program from being completed. Continued rainfall and saturated grounds have forced the fourth round of the Dakota Classic Modified Tour, originally scheduled for Southwest Speedway in Dickinson, to be moved to Dacotah Speedway in Mandan on Wednesday, July 8. Dacotah Speedway will also host the previously scheduled fifth round of the tour on Thursday, July 9, giving fans two consecutive nights of Dakota Classic Tour action at the 3/8-mile Mandan oval. Clemens Sweeps Fastest in the Falls at Electric City

(July 4, 2026) — The fifth annual Fastest in the Falls brought two nights of Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified racing to Electric City Speedway on July 3 and 4, drawing local favorites and drivers from across Montana and beyond. With a $2,100 payout to the winner each night, there was plenty on the line, but the holiday weekend belonged to Belgrade’s Ty Clemens. Clemens started second each night and won both 30-lap features, completing a clean sweep of the weekend and collecting the added winner’s money both nights. On the track Friday, Clemens started second and drove to the win, with Joey Price finishing second and Three Forks driver Jordan Tocci charging from sixth to third. Kolby Hannah finished fourth, and Travis Shumate rounded out the top five. Saturday brought more of the same from Clemens, who again drew the second starting position and drove to victory in the finale. Looft Has Successful Independence Day at Arlington

(July 4, 2026) — Matthew Looft enjoyed a successful Independence Day at Arlington Raceway, charging from 12th to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature before rallying from fourth to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified main event. The Swea City, Iowa, driver earned his second EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season in the Stock Cars and later added his second Razor Chassis North Central Region triumph of 2026 in the Modifieds. All four of those wins have come at Arlington Raceway. Josh Larsen paced the opening laps of the Stock Car feature with A.J. Zimmerman in tow. As Larsen and Zimmerman battled up front, Dan Mackenthun and Looft steadily worked the bottom groove from mid-pack. Mackenthun grabbed the lead on lap 11, but three laps later Looft completed his charge from 12th to the front and never looked back.
