Ebert graduates to victory lane

Jason-Ebert-Modifed — Jason Ebert accepted his high school diploma, then went to the track and won the Saturday feature for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods at Shawano Speedway.

SHAWANO, Wis. (May 26) – It was a day to remember for Jason Ebert.

During the afternoon, Ebert walked across the stage as he graduated from Clintonville High School. In the evening, Ebert raced to victory lane in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod feature at Shawano Speedway, ending Lucas Lamberies’ three-race win streak.

Bryce Clements took the early lead while being challenged by Ebert, who was able to make the pass for the lead on lap four.

Through the remainder of the race, Ebert was pressured by Kyle Raddant and Lucas Lamberies. Ebert fended off all comers as he scored his first win of the year. Lamberies, Raddant, Jordan Barkholtz, and Jason Jach rounded out the top five.

Kevin Feck won his first local IMCA Modified feature while Travis Van Straten was the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car victor.

Yarie wires Racing For A Reason IMCA Modified field at Shawano

By Scott Owen SHAWANO, Wis. (July 28) – Marcus Yarie utilized his art skills in drawing the pole for the IMCA Modified feature, then led all 20 laps for the $1,000 win Saturday at Shawano Speedway. Brekken Kleinschmidt challenged Yarie early in the Racing For A Reason Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier, while Lance Arneson and Wyatt Block challenged late in the race. It was all in vain, though, as Yarie would not be denied. He was chased across the finish line by Arneson, the 10th starting Block, Jason Czarapata and 12th starting Mike Mullen. The eighth annual Racing For A Reason event again brought out a huge crowd to raise money for childhood cancer charities. The night was also highlighted by a memorial to honor former track champion Mark Mitchell who passed away this past winter after a battle with cancer. Mid-Summer Classic brings two nights of action to Shawano

SHAWANO, Wis. (July 23-24) – Fans were given two opportunities to watch racing action at Shawano Speedway as the Mid-Summer Classic kicked off on Friday. Mike Mullen was the story on opening night, picking up All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility wins in both the IMCA Modified and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car divisions in very impressive fashion while Jayden Schmidt paced the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Saturday would provide just as much action as Marcus Yarie, Jeffery Teske and Chucky Forstner found victory lane. The Northern SportMods kicked action off with what looked to be another great run by Max Oreskovich jumping to the early lead. Oreskovich led the early part of the race with Schmidt giving him astiff challenge for the top spot. Jeff Schmuhl and Teske joined the battle up front. As the leaders entered turn one, Oreskovich’s engine expired, taking him to the outside wall and collecting Schmidt, who was able to continue after a trip to pit lane. Shawano pays Saturday night tribute to Weisnicht

By Brandon Reichenberger SHAWANO, Wis. (Aug. 5, 2023) – Mother Nature provided a beautiful night for racing at the legendary half mile Shawano Speedway on Saturday. Opening ceremonies kicked off the action honoring long-time track worker and former racer Scott Weisnicht with “One Final Lap” as he carried the checkered flag in is no. 53 Camaro. Scott was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and to honor him and his contributions, Spectator Eliminators returned to compete in “One Lap for Weisnicht.” Travis Welch and Trent Nolan led the field to the green flag for the 20-lap IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature. Nolan quickly took the lead with Shawn Wagner following Nolan through to second. Jeremy Christians made the pass on Welch to maintain third place. Behind them a fantastic three-car battle between Dylan Stedjee, Dan Michonski and Travis Van Straten was taking place. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6. The two would battle fiercely until another yellow interrupted the action. Deschamp nailed the restart and continued his dominance, but Mike Hagen soon emerged as a threat. DeYoung Powers to Crystal Victory, Extends Incredible Streak

(Apr. 26, 2025) — Myron DeYoung proved the high side was the fast lane at Crystal Motor Speedway, using a late-race move to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the 2025 season — and extend one of IMCA’s most impressive streaks. With the victory, DeYoung has now won at least one IMCA Modified main event in each of the last 31 consecutive seasons, continuing a remarkable run that spans more than three decades. Jaycob Truemner grabbed the initial lead after a spirited battle with Jerry Hunt.
