Ebert graduates to victory lane

By Brandon Reichenberger SHAWANO, Wisc. (May 10, 2025) — After much anticipation, Mother Nature finally cooperated to allow 200 truckloads of new clay to be laid on Shawano Speedway. The new surface produced multi-groove racing, little dust, and plenty of speed as the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlined the action-packed night. Tanner Janke made the most of the fresh track, taking control early and holding off a strong charge from Lucas Lamberies to secure his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2025. Janke, who started on the front row alongside his father Gary Janke, jumped to the lead and built a sizable advantage before the first of two cautions flew for a spin by Jason Yeager in turn four. On both restarts, Janke maintained his composure and pulled away, despite pressure from Lamberies, who had charged from eighth. A final caution for Jerry Muenster set up one last restart, but Janke proved untouchable, pulling away to take the checkers. By Joe Orsini SHAWANO, Wis. (May 27, 2023) – Former track champion Lucas Lamberies reigned in Saturday’s Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Shawano Speedway. The main event saw ageless wonder Jerry Muenster start on the pole. When the green dropped, though, outside polesitter Nicholas Holtger launched into the early lead while Jeremie Hedrick put his familiar C19 machine into the runner-up spot. That lead duo set the pace for the first nine laps until caution flew, restacking the field. The ensuing restart had Holtger lead Hedrick, Jordan Bartz, Lamberies and Marcus Yarie back to racing speeds. Lamberies and Bartz wasted no time and worked to the front, where they traded the top spot back and forth with each driver having to run low or high in the door-to-door scrap. Lamberies eventually locked up sole possession of the lead and held on when the double checkers flew. By Dave Buss SHAWANO, Wis. (July 27) – There a couple of nights where the action on the track takes second stage to the events going on at the track. On Saturday, Racing for a Reason took center stage as the amazing fans and race teams at Shawano Speedway worked together to raise money for the fight against childhood cancer.  Mark Weisnicht grabbed the lead from his front row starting spot and never give it up on his way to an $800 IMCA Modified payday. Marcus Yarie moved into second and kept the pressure on to the finish but not have enough to get around Weisnight. Lucas Lamberies came from the 12th starting spot to grab third with Jason Czarapata and Lance Arneson scored next. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars hit the track with Kurt Olson grabbing the early lead.
