Central Arizona winners are Mecl, George

M-Tyler-Mecl-VL — Tyler Mecl scored the win in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Central Arizona Speedway.

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (May 12) – Persistent Tyler Mecl and a very fast Jason George were IMCA winners Saturday at Central Arizona Speedway.

Mecl used the outside of the speedway to surprise Jeremy Thornton and take over the lead coming to the stripe to complete the ninth lap of the IMCA Modified main.

From there, Mecl weathered one last caution on lap 12 to take the checkered flag by more than two seconds over Thornton and Trevor Mille.

Jason George shot from fifth to first, somehow going lower on the speedway than the three-wide trio of Gerry Glenn, Mark Farnes and Chris Tipton on the first lap of the Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Mod feature.

George pulled away to a full straightaway lead by the halfway mark and simply checked out over the last 10 laps of the race. George crossed the finish line almost nine seconds ahead of Glenn.

IMCA Stock Car, Modified wins give Madrid first sweep at Central Arizona

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Jan. 21) – Winning the first feature of the night helped Zachary Madrid win the last one. Madrid was a double winner in the 2022 lidlifter at Central Arizona Speedway, topping both the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event and the IMCA Modified headliner. While he’s won two IMCA features twice on the same night before at other venues, Friday marked the first time he accomplished the feat at Casa Grande. “The track was heavy. Dominant Thornton scores 2nd Arizona Mod Tour win

(Feb. 10) – While day racing at the Central Arizona Speedway brought a completely different dynamic to the plate, the driver in victory lane following Sunday’s Arizona Mod Tour main event was celebrating a second straight victory. A familiar face returned to the winner’s circle as Ricky Thornton Jr. grabbed his fourth career tour win, tying him with Hunter Marriott for the most overall wins in the third running of the tour. Also the $1,500 winner Saturday at Arizona Speedway and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier six times over, Thornton used his outside starting spot to grab the lead early. Clint Reichenbach, who had faced struggles at Queen Creek, used his fourth place spot on the starting grid to catapult himself into 2nd early on. Baca, Thornton, Thompson get tour wins in Sunday afternoon show at Central Arizona

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Feb. 9) – Chaz Baca, Ricky Thornton Jr. and Cody Thompson all raced to second wins in their respective divisions, in the third IMCA Arizona Dirt Track Tour event of the weekend. Baca led the way to the $2,000 IMCA Modified checkers while Thornton collected the $750 IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers Sunday afternoon at Central Arizona Speedway while Thompson returned to Casa Grande for another impressive Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod victory, also good for $750. After a rough start to the 25-lapper, Baca led the distance in the Modified main. Already on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, he was chased every time around the track by Tim Ward while Thornton made his way from 17th starting to third before a lap 14 caution. Seidler Scores Stock Car Finale at Mandan; Hellman Clinches Title on Tie-Breaker

(Aug. 22, 2025) — The points battle in the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars at Dacotah Speedway was razor-thin between Geoff Hellman and Matt Dosch, with just one point separating the two entering the final race of the season. Hellman’s night started rough after a heat race incident, putting extra pressure on the feature. Cautions flew early and often, helping both Hellman and Dosch work their way toward the front. Up ahead, Marlyn Seidler — who came up short the week prior — grabbed the early lead. Hellman mounted a charge, racing Seidler side by side while Dosch lurked in third. Hellman took control on lap eight, but Seidler wasn’t finished. Kornbau Wins Sprint Spectacular AST Feature at Lernerville

(Aug. 23, 2025) — The Peluso Roofing Sprint Spectacular at Lernerville Speedway, featuring the Allegheny Sprint Tour presented by Renewal by Andersen Replacement Doors and Windows, brought together seventeen IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars from across the region. The stacked field included three of the top-five in Pennsylvania state points: Timmy Bittner (second), Jarrett Cavalet (third), and Jeffery Weaver Jr. (fifth). AST regular Jacob Gomola (eleventh in points) and Jim Pattock (nineteenth) were also in the mix. The twenty-lap feature lined up with Hunter Hite on the pole and PASS standout Steve Kenawell Jr. alongside. Harker Completes Five-Race Sweep, Clinches Eagle Modified Crown

By Greg Soukup EAGLE, Neb. (Aug. 23, 2025) — The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature capped the night with one of the most dramatic runs of the season. Cameron Thompson led early before cautions reshuffled the field. Bob Zoubek and Hunter Weber each worked into contention, while Shawn Harker steadily picked his way forward. In the closing laps, contact and spins between Thompson and Zoubek opened the door for Harker, who powered to his fifth straight win at Eagle Raceway. The victory secured him both the track championship and the combined Eagle–Beatrice points bonus. John Saathoff finished second and Chad Andersen third.
