Central Arizona winners are Mecl, George

M-Tyler-Mecl-VL — Tyler Mecl scored the win in Saturday’s IMCA Modified feature at Central Arizona Speedway.

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (May 12) – Persistent Tyler Mecl and a very fast Jason George were IMCA winners Saturday at Central Arizona Speedway.

Mecl used the outside of the speedway to surprise Jeremy Thornton and take over the lead coming to the stripe to complete the ninth lap of the IMCA Modified main.

From there, Mecl weathered one last caution on lap 12 to take the checkered flag by more than two seconds over Thornton and Trevor Mille.

Jason George shot from fifth to first, somehow going lower on the speedway than the three-wide trio of Gerry Glenn, Mark Farnes and Chris Tipton on the first lap of the Karl Chevrolet Northern Sport Mod feature.

George pulled away to a full straightaway lead by the halfway mark and simply checked out over the last 10 laps of the race. George crossed the finish line almost nine seconds ahead of Glenn.

IMCA Stock Car, Modified wins give Madrid first sweep at Central Arizona

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (Jan. 21) – Winning the first feature of the night helped Zachary Madrid win the last one. Madrid was a double winner in the 2022 lidlifter at Central Arizona Speedway, topping both the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car main event and the IMCA Modified headliner. While he’s won two IMCA features twice on the same night before at other venues, Friday marked the first time he accomplished the feat at Casa Grande. “The track was heavy. Running the Stock Car feature first helped me a ton figuring out where to run and what line I should follow in the Modified,” Madrid said. “I ran high in (turns) three and four, the middle to bottom in one and two, and wherever I could to get through traffic.” He crossed the stripe ahead of Scott Sluka and Eric Lloyd in the Stock Car feature. Noll notches Central Arizona win

By Jeff McSpadden CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (June 2) – Jason Noll took top IMCA Modified honors on Ernie Mincy Tribute Night at Central Arizona Speedway. The 12th starting Noll made his charge on the low side and was up to the runner-up spot by just the fourth lap. He completed his pass of A.J. Huebner for the lead and opened a sizable advantage on the field by the half way mark. Behind Noll, Tyler Mecl drove around the high side to reach second and was followed by Chaz Baca into the third spot. Noll cruised to a 2.741 second victory over Mecl, with Baca, Trevor Miller and Huebner rounding out the top five.

Arizona IMCA Dirt Track Tour primed for Feb. 6-15 run

SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. – With three successful tours in as many years, the fourth annual IMCA Arizona Dirt Track Tour will boast half a dozen $2,000 to win, minimum $150 to start IMCA Modified events Feb. 6-15. Deschamp Shines in Stock Car Thriller at Nodak Speedway

(Apr. 27, 2025) — Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars took center stage at Nodak Speedway’s season opener, and the 3/8-mile “Playground of Power” delivered thrilling side-by-side action on a crisp Sunday evening. Chris Tuchscherer, the 2005 Williston Basin Stock Car champion and double-duty driver for the night, grabbed the early lead. However, two-time defending track champion Will Scheresky found a way around him by lap 4 and began pulling away before a caution slowed the field on the fifth circuit. On the restart, Gabe Deschamp — fresh off a win at Marshalltown’s Frostbuster earlier in the month — tracked down Scheresky and completed a bold move on the inside to take command on lap 6.
