Hinrichs tops Marshalltown main, Mitchell rules plush Super Dash

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Aug. 18) – It was another action packed night of racing on Friday at the Mar­shalltown Speedway and the 115 cars on hand provided the crowd with great close racing all evening long.

Kyle Hinrichs captured his first IMCA Late Model victory while Justin Mitchell went home $3,000 richer in the Super Dash.

Hinrichs led the 20-lap main event from start to finish.  Richie Gustin ran out of time to garner more than a second place finish, Todd Cooney was third, fourth went to Mitchell and Darrel De­France was fifth.

Jimmy Gustin got his new ride to the winner’s circle in the IMCA Modified division and Jeff Mueller got back on the winning track in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Cory Rose got a first-time win in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods while Shannon Anderson chalked up another “W” in the IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.

The program ended with the running of the $3,000 to win Rumours Sport Bar & Grill Super Dash. All season long, drivers had qualified through weekly dashes to earn their way into the big race. At the end of the 12-lap Super Dash, Mitchell went home with the cash prize.
