Banks Charges to Hobby Stock Victory at Phillips County

HOLYOKE, Colo. (Aug. 8, 2026) — Phillips County Raceway wrapped up its 2026 season Saturday night with championship battles settled in five IMCA divisions.

Dave Banks of Brush collected the Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stock feature after starting fourth.

Wade Kolbo finished second, Christopher Glass was third, and Aiden Miller crossed the stripe fourth. Tylan Lambertus advanced five positions from 10th to finish fifth and secure the 2026 track championship.

The victory was Banks’ first B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region win of the season.

Bussell Scores Modified Victory as Steffens Clinches Title

Justin Bussell of Imperial, Neb., raced to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, leading home Anthony Rhoades after starting second in the 20-lap contest.

Bubba Alvarado advanced from seventh to finish third, followed by Troy Seidl and Tom Quint. Ayden Steffens saw his night end early with a DNF but still secured the 2026 track championship.

Brack Wins Stock Car Finale, Banks Earns Track Championship

Bill Brack of Mead captured the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature after starting alongside polesitter Layne Bellm.

Bellm settled for second while Drew Miller advanced from sixth to finish third. D.J. Banks gained three positions to finish fourth and lock up the 2026 track championship.

Donavan Wins SportMod Feature and Championship

Paul Donavan of McCook, Neb., drove from the outside front row to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods feature while also locking up the 2026 Phillips County Raceway track championship.

Sage Luther finished second ahead of Douglas Beaman. Preston Donovan gained three positions to finish fourth, while Kerry Jones completed the top five.

Quintero Victorious in Sport Compacts

Armando Quintero of Casper, Wyo., claimed the Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact feature after starting third.

Robert Donmyer finished second and Michael McEwen charged from seventh to third. Robert Claborn and Nathan Vollbracht rounded out the top five.

Although Troy Strodtman retired with a DNF after contacting the wall, he secured the 2026 Phillips County Raceway Sport Compact championship.

Moser Makes Most of 2025 Opportunities with Four IMCA Track and Tour Championships

Winner of three of just 13 Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMod starts close to home in 2025, the Thornton, Colorado, hotshoe finished no worse than fifth in any of those outings. That consistency translated into a quartet of championships, track crowns at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan and Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, and in both the Colorado Alliance Tour and the Great Plains IMCA Tour. Ratzlaff Husband and Wife Duo Take Podium Spots in Phillips County Season Opener

(Apr. 11, 2026) — Matthew Ratzlaff of Monte Vista led every lap to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature in front of the biggest crowd Phillips County Raceway has seen in over seven years during the season opener. It was his first win of 2026 in the Jet Racing Central Region. Ayden Steffens finished second, while Christina Ratzlaff made it a family double podium with a third-place finish. The couple traveled six hours to compete at PCR for the opening round of the Colorado Alliance Tour. Tom Quint placed fourth, followed by Bubba Alvarado. Bill Brack led from the pole and held off pressure from D.J. Banks and Layne Bellm to win the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature. IMCA Modifieds chase $1,000 top check Sunday at Phillips County

HOLYOKE, Colo. (May 25, 2022) – A $1,000 to win feature for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlines the Sunday, May 29 program at Phillips County Raceway. The winner becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational. Also on the evening’s card are IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Friesen Performance INCA Northern SportMods and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts. All divisions are draw/redraw and IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, KMJ Performance State, track and Colorado Alliance Tour points will be awarded. Gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. Hot laps follow the 4 p.m. drivers’ meeting and racing is at 5 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Kreider Returns from Illness to Capture Dramatic Bridgeport Sprint Victory

By Pete Wortman SWEDESBORO, N.J. (Aug. 8, 2026) — Jared Kreider’s return to the cockpit couldn’t have gone much better. Back in action after missing the past month due to illness, the Stockton, N.J., driver rallied on the final lap to score his second career Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series victory in Saturday night’s 25-lap DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade feature at Bridgeport Speedway. Kreider, who also topped hot laps and won one of the All-State Auto Glass heat races, chased Tim Iulg for most of the race before a late caution and mechanical trouble for the leader opened the door. Shelby Kelly and Kreider shared the front row, with Kreider leading the opening lap before Iulg charged underneath him on lap two to seize the lead. Browne Breaks Through for First Modified Victory at Antioch

(Aug. 8, 2026) — Tyler Browne of Antioch captured his first career Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature victory Friday night at Antioch Speedway, adding his name to the list of 2026 DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region winners. Browne jumped into the lead at the start of the 20-lap main event with heat race winner Troy Foulger of Oakley and previous feature winner Andrew Pearce of Oakley in pursuit. Foulger applied constant pressure throughout the race, but Browne answered every challenge to maintain the top spot. An inside pass on the frontstretch on lap 15 moved Pearce into second. Foulger headed to the pits moments later, allowing Pearce one final opportunity to challenge. Browne remained composed over the closing laps to secure the milestone victory.
