MAQUOKETA, Iowa (July 30, 2026) — David Brandies drove from 11th starting position to capture the richest victory of the night Thursday, winning the $2,000-to-win Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature during the Jackson County Fair program at Maquoketa Speedway.
The Wilton driver earned his sixth EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the season, with three of those wins coming at Maquoketa Speedway.
Kyle Merkes finished second, Kodey Miles advanced 13 positions to finish third, Gage Neal climbed from 14th to fourth, and Cole Suckow completed the top five. Miles earned hard charger honors.
The feature also served as a B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifier, making Brandies eligible to attempt to qualify for the invitational during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.
Vlies Tops Loaded SportMod Field
A stacked 28-car Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMod field featured multiple national and track champions, but Casco, Wisconsin’s Coy Vlies made the long tow worthwhile by racing from third to victory.
The triumph was Vlies’ 15th of the 2026 season and his first outside his home state this year.
Jake Sachau finished second, Cole Suckow was third, Bryson Eckrich crossed the stripe fourth, and Ben Chapman completed the top five. Jarett Franzen earned hard charger honors after advancing 18 positions from 26th to eighth.
Miles Wins Summer Showdown Finale
The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks concluded the three-race Summer Showdown.
Karter Miles led every lap from the pole to score his 11th B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region victory of the season and his second at Maquoketa Speedway.
Carson Butt finished second to secure the Summer Showdown championship. Randy LaMar advanced from 12th to third, Leah Wroten finished fourth, and Kile Vohringer rounded out the top five. Dylan Said earned hard charger honors with a gain of 13 positions, going from 26th to 13th.
Janssen Scores Modified Victory
Drew Janssen made the trip from Pella pay off by driving from second to victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature.
The win was Janssen’s second Razor Chassis North Central Region triumph of the season, with the victories coming at two different tracks.
Charlie Mohr finished second, Matt Werner crossed the stripe third, Jeff Larson advanced from eighth to fourth, and Shane Paris completed the top five. Matt Short earned hard charger honors after advancing 13 positions from 21st to eighth.
