Johnson Charges to First Jackson Win of 2026

JACKSON, Minn. (July 9, 2026) — Matt Johnson powered to his first Jackson Motorplex victory of the season Thursday night, taking command on lap seven and pulling away to win the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature during Round 3 of the Heiman Fire Equipment Mayhem Summer Series.

Johnson, of St. Peter, started second and quickly settled into contention behind early leader Hunter Hanson. After Hanson paced the opening six laps, Johnson made the winning move on lap seven and steadily built his advantage.

When the checkered flag waved after 20 laps, Johnson held a commanding 2.889-second margin over Trevor Serbus, who charged from seventh to second. Andrew Sullivan completed the podium, while Hanson settled for fourth after leading the opening circuits. Lee Goos Jr. rounded out the top five.

The victory was Johnson’s fifth RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car win of the 2026 season. His other four triumphs have all come at Arlington Raceway.

Owen Carlson also turned in a notable drive, advancing from the 14th starting position to finish eighth.

Brandon Bosma, Serbus, Johnson and Nate Barger won the heat races, while Corbin Erickson claimed the B Main.

31 RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Cars were on hand for the night.

RaceSaver Sprints run Wednesday at Jackson

JACKSON, Minn. – The Heartland Steel Racesaver Sprint Cars presented by Wyffels Hybrids will be added to the Jackson Motorplex program on Wednesday, July 18 with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the LMSS Touring Series. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars will be racing for $600 to win, plus IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and state points, plus a new Keizer wheel. Hot laps are at 7 p.m. for the draw/redraw show.

Four Tuesday dates for five IMCA divisions slated at Jackson Motorplex

JACKSON, Minn. – Four Tuesday dates for five IMCA divisions are on the upcoming Jackson Motorplex schedule. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts take to the four-tenth’s mile dirt oval at Jackson on June 9, June 30, July 21 and Aug. 25. The Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds is in town for the July date. Tuesday’s Dirt Knights Tour show among events as Jackson Motorplex suspends remaining 2020 schedule

JACKSON, Minn. – Due to the state restrictions, limitations on crowds and lack of recent updates for outdoor venues in Minnesota, the Jackson Motorplex has decided to suspend all remaining events in 2020 effective immediately. Among the events affected is the Tuesday, July 21 Speed Shift TV Dirt Knights Tour for IMCA Modifieds. The 11th annual tour opens July 20 at Park Jefferson Speedway and is at Buena Vista Raceway on July 22. Monday’s main event at Jefferson, S.D., pays $1,500. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. And on Wednesday at Alta, Iowa, the feature pays $1,000 to win with gates opening at 5 p.m. and racing following 7 p.m. hot laps. Both tour events are 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying events.

Blood Charges to Grays Harbor Victory After Midrace Pass

(July 11, 2026) — Tyson Blood charged from 11th starting position and took the lead on lap 10 to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature Saturday night at Grays Harbor Raceway. John Gaynor led the opening nine circuits before Blood found his way to the front. Once in command, the Tumwater driver set a blistering pace and drove away for the victory. Blood earned his fourth DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season and his third triumph of the year at Grays Harbor Raceway. Gaynor settled for second after leading the early laps, while Kevin Williamson advanced from eighth to third. Drueke Charges from 11th to Sprint Car Victory at Eagle

(July 11, 2026) — Tyler Drueke thrilled the Eagle Raceway crowd Saturday night, charging from the 11th starting position to win the RaceSaver IMCA Sprint Car feature after surviving a wild late-race crash and celebrating with a headfirst belly flop into the mud. Jay Russell led the opening laps before Drueke steadily worked his way toward the front. Shryock Rallies Late to Win Hobo Hustle Stock Car Shootout at Britt

By Chad Meyer BRITT, Iowa (July 10, 2026) — Despite more than four inches of rain falling at Hancock County Speedway just two nights earlier, a tremendous effort by the track crew and fair board had the racing surface ready for Friday night’s Hobo Hustle Stock Car Shootout, sponsored by Nutrien Ag Solutions and J & K Mathas Farms. In the Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, Colby Fett made it three-wide on the opening laps to take the lead and quickly pulled away from the field. A caution just past the halfway point erased his advantage and brought Kelly Shryock into contention. Shryock applied heavy pressure once the race resumed before driving past Fett in the closing laps to score his third consecutive Britt Stock Car victory.
