Teen Davenport Earns First Stock Car Win at Dacotah Speedway

MANDAN, N.D. (June 26, 2026) — Seventeen-year-old Sierra Davenport of Burlington led the final 19 laps to score her first career Sunoco IMCA Stock Car victory Friday night at Dacotah Speedway, becoming the newest winner in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.

Will Matejovic started from the pole, but Davenport quickly took command while Matejovic and Todd Carter battled for second.

As Davenport built a comfortable advantage, Matt Dosch and points leader Geoff Hellman worked their way forward, both moving past Matejovic and Carter to challenge for the runner-up position. Their battle gradually closed the gap on Davenport, setting up a thrilling three-car fight for the victory as the leaders took the white flag.

Entering turns one and two on the final lap, Dosch made contact with the inside guardrail and ricocheted into Hellman, sending the latter spinning and bringing out the caution. Officials declared the race complete and reverted to the last completed lap, giving Davenport the milestone victory.

Hellman was credited with second, followed by Carter, Travis Ulmer, and Jason Meidinger.

Keller Charges from 10th for First Win of Season

Pole sitter Brent Schlafmann led the opening lap of the 25-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature before multi-time track champion Shawn Strand took over on lap two.

Strand pulled away early while Travis Tooley advanced to second. Defending track champion Jeremy Keller, who started 10th, steadily worked his way through the field, passing Scott Gartner, Schlafmann, and Tooley before tracking down Strand.

Keller took the lead on lap 10 and quickly stretched his advantage before a late caution erased his sizable lead.

On the ensuing restart, Keller again pulled away from the field to earn his first Dacotah Speedway victory of the season and his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2026.

Tooley finished second, with Gartner edging Strand for third. Mark Dahl completed the top five.

Berry is best at Dacotah Speedway

MANDAN, N.D. (June 7) – After finishing runner-up twice the week before, Tom Berry led the final five laps for his first IMCA Modified feature victory of the season at Dacotah Speedway.  Jordan Huettl led the Friday night field to green. Jeremy Keller reeled in the leader and took the front spot be­fore a lap 11 caution.  On the restart, Spencer Wilson slipped by Huettl, bringing Marlyn Seidler with him. Seidler looked under Wilson and grabbed second before yet another caution regrouped the field. When the race resumed, Berry passed Wilson and then caught Seidler for second with six laps to go.  As Keller started catching lapped traffic, Berry used the slower traffic to his advantage and motored by Keller with five laps to go.   Keller had to settle for second while Seidler held off Wilson. Win at Mandan is record-setter for Berry, Braaksma clinches IMCA Dakota Tour title

MANDAN, N.D. (July 11, 2024) – Tom Berry Jr.’s second win of the week was one for the record book. Ethan Braaksma’s third runner-up finish was good for a championship. Berry led every lap of Thursday’s Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric main event at Dacotah Speedway, his career 10th Friesen Performance IMCA Modified victory breaking the previous record held by Ricky Thornton Jr. and dating from 2006, when IMCA resumed sanctioning the tour. “It’s pretty incredible, to know what Ricky has done in his career and to pass a record like that,” Berry said. “I know he holds a lot of ‘em and we’re trying to break them. Jochim Wins Thrilling Stock Car Feature to Kick Off Dacotah Speedway Season

(Apr. 25, 2025) — For only the third time in Dacotah Speedway history, the track hosted its season opener in the month of April, kicking off the 2025 campaign with action-packed IMCA racing. Headlining the night was a thrilling Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature, where Andrew Jochim delivered a late-race slide job to claim his first-ever Dacotah Speedway victory and first win of 2025 in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Adam Goff and Jeremy Engelhardt led the field to the green flag in the IMCA Stock Car feature. A series of early cautions regrouped the field, allowing Shawn Volk to enter the mix and make it a three-car battle.
