Stankowski Holds Off Late Charges for Eagle River Stock Car Victory

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (May 23, 2026) — Wausau’s Mitch Stankowski fought off a late-race charge from a trio of veterans to earn a hard-fought Sunoco IMCA Stock Car victory at Eagle River Speedway.

Hometown driver Trentin Bell led the opening four laps before Stankowski, who started fifth, slipped underneath Bell on lap five to take over the top spot. The pair thrilled the crowd over the next several circuits as Stankowski committed to the bottom groove while Bell ripped the cushion around the top side.

A caution on lap six for a stalled Dustin White machine tightened the field and allowed Ryan Glembin to enter the battle for the lead as he moved into second at the halfway mark.

With five laps remaining, Rod Snellenberger charged into contention after starting 14th, while Mark Eswein joined the fight after advancing from 15th on the grid.

Despite the heavy pressure from the veteran challengers, Stankowski remained smooth and consistent around the low side of the speedway to secure his first EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region victory of the 2026 season.

Glembin finished second ahead of Snellenberger, Eswein, and Bell.

Snellenberger soars again at Eagle River

(June 18, 2024) – Rod Snellenberger passed Jason Zdroik for the lead with five laps remaining and went onto collect the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car feature win at Eagle River Speedway Tuesday night. Snellenberger, Wisconsin’s winningest IMCA Stock Car driver, trailed another former track champion who was substitute driving for his brother. Zdroik jumped into the early lead and appeared headed for a victory. However Snellenberger remained within striking distance of Zdroik and with seven laps remaining began to close the gap. On lap 15, Snellenberger ducked underneath the Eagle River veteran and cruised to victory. On the final circuit coming out of turn four Zdroik clobbered the frontstretch wall, relegating him to a fourth place finish. David Blackberg finished second with Patrick Farley Jr. coming home in third. Hometown driver Jonathan Miller rounded out the top five finishers. For Snellenberger, the win was his 223rd career IMCA Stock Car feature flag.

Bounty On IMCA Stocker Snellenberger at Eagle River Speedway on August 5

(Aug. 2, 2025) — Eagle River Speedway has placed a bounty on Wisconsin’s winningest Sunoco IMCA Stock Car driver – Pulaski’s “Hot Rod” Snellenberger – for the Tuesday, August 5 show at the Northwoods third-mile clay oval. Snellenberger, a two-time track champion at ERS, is undefeated this season with six feature wins in six appearances. Any IMCA Stock Car driver who can beat him on August 5 will receive a $300 bonus through the bounty. And that amount could increase before race night. To collect the bounty, Snellenberger must be running competitively and on the lead lap when the checkered flag flies. The track will use IMCA’s weekly point average system, so Snellenberger will likely start deep in the field — along with any out-of-town challengers looking to claim the bonus. IMCA Stock Cars are new attraction at Eagle River

EAGLE RIVER, Wis. (Feb. 15, 2024) – The newest attraction at Eagle River Speedway are the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. The Class Too Tough To Tame joins the weekly lineup at the extreme northern Wisconsin track, with a dozen shows scheduled on Tuesday nights between May 26 and Aug. 20. “We like the class and the IMCA rules package. Glasser Sweeps Nodak Weekend with Last-Lap SportMod Victory

(May 25, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods capped off the Memorial Day Weekend doubleheader at Nodak Speedway with a dramatic finish as Estevan, Saskatchewan’s Keenan Glasser stormed from 10th starting position to steal the lead on the final lap. Shute Outduels Field in Boone Modified Make-Up Feature

By Jane Burd BOONE, Iowa (May 23, 2026) — Boone Speedway completed a full slate of make-up features from the rain-shortened May 16 program on Saturday night, highlighted by Todd Shute charging from seventh starting position to capture the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature. Shute resumed the postponed event already near the front after racing was halted the previous Saturday due to rain.
