35th Annual Harris Clash Returns to Iowa’s Action Track June 23

BOONE, Iowa (May 15, 2026) — One of the most prestigious and longest-running traditions in IMCA racing returns to Iowa’s Action Track on Tuesday, June 23, as the 35th Annual Harris Clash brings another loaded night of competition to Boone Speedway.

Created by Bob Harris in 1992, the Harris Clash remains IMCA’s longest-running single-day special event and continues to be one of the marquee summer showcases for Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds, Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars, and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods.

The 2025 edition marked the first time the event had been held in Iowa since 2017 and the first appearance at Boone Speedway since 1994. It also featured the debut of Stock Cars on the Harris Clash program.

The response was massive. A total of 231 entries competed last season, including 81 Stock Cars, 79 Modifieds, and 71 Northern SportMods.

“I was very impressed last year,” said event founder Bob Harris. “The car count was unreal and it was just a good show that went off smoothly with no hitches. Boone Speedway did a great job hosting the event. Adding the Stock Cars didn’t seem to slow things down at all, and those guys did a great job. There were minimal cautions in all the features.”

The 2026 edition will again offer lucrative purses across all three divisions. Modifieds race for $4,000 to win and $250 to start the feature, while Stock Cars battle for $3,000 to win. Northern SportMods will compete for a $2,000 top prize.

Both the Modified and Stock Car features will serve as Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational and B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational qualifiers for the 2026 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

Modified drivers also have an opportunity to earn an additional $500 through the Harris Clash Manufacturer’s Cup. Since 2001, participating chassis manufacturers have contributed to the bonus program. If the Harris Clash winner drives a chassis built by one of the participating manufacturers, the bonus is awarded in victory lane.

Participating manufacturers include GRT Racing Cars, Harris Auto Racing, Jet Racing, Lethal Chassis, Performer Chassis, Rage Chassis, Razor Chassis, Shryock Racing Components, and VanderBuilt Race Cars.

A large number of contingency awards will again be distributed during the event. Modified and Northern SportMod champions will each receive a free set of wheels, while BHE Shocks awards four free shock rebuilds to the highest-finishing competitors in both divisions utilizing their products.

CRS Suspension will award hard charger bonuses of $300 in Modifieds and $200 in Northern SportMods to the drivers advancing the most positions in their respective features. Hyperco will provide four free springs to the worst redraw driver in both the Modified and SportMod divisions.

Additional awards include gift certificates for leaders at designated laps, the first A-Main DNF in both Modifieds and SportMods, and hard luck awards that include free chassis school entries.

Grandstands open at 5:00 p.m., with pit gates and draw opening at 3:00. Draw closes at 6:15, hot laps begin at 6:00, the pit meeting is scheduled for 6:30, and racing starts at 7:00.

Adult grandstand admission is $20, while tickets for ages 13-17 are $10. Kids 12 and under are admitted free. Pit passes are $35, while children age 2 and under receive free pit admission.
