Williamson Charges from 17th to Win Grays Harbor Opener

ELMA, Wash. (Apr. 18, 2026) — Grays Harbor Raceway opened its 2026 season with a strong showing in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Grey Ferrando led the opening 21 laps, setting a torrid pace and even putting cars a lap down.

Rookie racer and first-time visitor Robert Lancaster, along with veteran Craig Moore, found speed and worked their way past Devon Reed. Lancaster began closing in on Ferrando and, on lap 21, took over the lead, appearing poised to score a win in his first appearance at the raceway.

A caution with three laps remaining, involving Reed and Jason St. Paul, reset the field. On the restart, Lancaster led briefly before spinning in turn one, bringing out another yellow. That handed the lead to Kevin Williamson for the final restart.

Williamson held off Moore over the closing laps to secure the win, with Austin Rognlin finishing third. Tyson Blood and St. Paul rounded out the top five after a strong late charge.

It was Williamson’s first win of the season in the DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region. The Coburg, Oregon driver powered from 17th to the victory, also earning hard charger honors in the Superior Fuel Cells-owned no. 42.

Heat race wins went to Lancaster, Ferrando, and Miner.

West Coast Modified Clash Brings Two Nights of Racing and Fireworks to Grays Harbor Raceway

(May 14, 2025) — The 6th Annual West Coast Modified Clash will roar into Grays Harbor Raceway over Memorial Day weekend with two complete shows for the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and Karl Chevrolet IMCA Northern SportMods, along with a post-race fireworks spectacular on Sunday night. The Modified Clash kicks off on Saturday, May 24, with a $2,000-to-win feature for the IMCA Modifieds, locking in the top four finishers for Sunday’s $2,500-to-win finale. Schnitzer Scores Grays Harbor Win, Takes Over Modified Points Lead

(Jun. 28, 2025) — Jason Tole showed early speed by leading the opening lap of the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature at Grays Harbor Raceway, but Brenton Schnitzer stole the spotlight with a thrilling move on lap one. Schnitzer executed a daring two-for-one pass to take second, then quickly powered into the lead on lap two. From there, he was never challenged en route to his second win of the 2025 season at GHR and in the Shaw Race Cars Western Region. Zane Miner had a determined drive, rallying from 10th despite front-end damage that left parts dangling from his machine. Miner made it to second but ran out of time to track down Schnitzer. Best in the West IMCA Modifieds, Northern SportMods to battle at Grays Harbor Shipwreck Beads Nationals

(July 12, 2023) – Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds and SportMods are coming to Grays Harbor Raceway this weekend, July 14 and 15, for the Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals. One of the longest running IMCA Modified specials in the Northwest at 24 years brings an additional $6,500 to the main event on Saturday, July 15 including a $7,500 top prize and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility for the winner. Merchant Storms from 16th to Capture Park Jefferson Modified Feature

By Chance Riley JEFFERSON, S.D. (Apr. 16, 2026) — The Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds were the stars of the show Thursday night at Park Jefferson Speedway with a thrilling 20-lap main event. For most of the race, it was a two-car battle for the lead between Shane DeMey and Brian Mahlstedt. But on the white flag lap, charging down the front stretch, R.J. Merchant of South Sioux City, Nebraska stormed from his 16th starting position to steal the win—despite a bent suspension. It was Merchant’s first victory of the year in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. DeMey finished second ahead of Duke Erickson, while Mahlstedt and Ricky Stephan completed the top five. Modifieds and SportMods Set to Get Rolling at Santa Maria

The evening marks the season championship opener for the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. Brown on Top of His Game at Delaware Int’l MASS Event

(Apr. 18, 2026) — Dave Brown Jr. of Aston, Pennsylvania took top honors Saturday night at Delaware International Speedway by capturing his first MASS victory of the young season. Brown outlasted defending champion Troy Betts in the 25-lap feature with the DCB Plumbing & Heating Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series presented by Capitol Renegade. It was Brown’s 13th career MASS victory, tying him for second on the all-time win list for the series. Brown drew the pole during the redraw and took full advantage, grabbing the early lead at the start while Betts wasted no time giving chase. Betts pressured Brown in the opening laps, with Brown slowly opening up a five-car-length advantage. Meanwhile, behind the leaders, heat winner Ryan Stillwaggon was on the move, battling with D.J.
