Hellman Claims First IMCA Stock Car Win at Dacotah Speedway

MANDAN, N.D. (May 9, 2025) — The Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature at Dacotah Speedway was a thrilling battle for the lead, with Scott Gartner initially leading the charge. However, Geoff Hellman made his move on lap two and quickly distanced himself from the pack. Gartner then found himself under pressure from Jason Meidinger, and a mistake off turn two allowed both Meidinger and Todd Carter to slip by.

As the race wore on, the battle for fifth became the focal point with Aaron Aaseth, Andrew Jochim, and Brock Beeter fighting hard for position. Hellman, though, was untouchable out front, crossing the finish line for his first career IMCA Stock Car feature win in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region. Meidinger secured a career-best second-place finish, while Carter rounded out the top three.

Dahl Dominates for First Modified Win at Dacotah Speedway

The Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature saw pole sitter Caden Roberts leading the way early, but a caution on the opening lap set the stage for Marlyn Seidler to take control. The veterans traded the lead multiple times, with Seidler initially holding the advantage before Mark Dahl passed him on lap seven and pulled away.

As the race progressed, Jeremy Keller, who started in tenth, rapidly moved up and passed Seidler to take over second. However, Dahl’s lead was insurmountable, and he cruised to his first victory of the season in the Razor Chassis North Central Region. Keller finished a strong second, while Seidler completed the top three.

Estevan is back on schedule for 2023 IMCA Dakota Tour

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Dec. 19, 2022) – History teacher turned tour director John Gartner channeled his inner Douglas MacArthur when he promised a return to Estevan Motor Speedway. And like the general who made good on his promise to return to the Philippines, Gartner and the IMCA Dakota Classic Modified Tour will return to the Saskatchewan track in 2023. “I’m a history major and always talked to kids about MacArthur’s promise,” he explained. “The tour hasn’t been to Canada since 2019, the year before COVID, and I told people we would go back as soon as we could.” “We made that promise and we’re going to keep it,” he continued. “We will be back in Estevan on July 10.” Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $1,000 to win each night of the July 8-13 tour. Keller checks out at Mandan

By Rebecca Rattei MANDAN, N.D. (June 11) – Jeremy Keller checked out on everybody in winning Friday’s IMCA Modified feature at Dacotah Speedway. Tony Marsh started on the pole and when the green flag waved, the eighth starting Keller flew by on the outside and took the lead on lap one. Quentin Kinzley and Marcus Tomlinson battled for second place as Keller started pulling away. Kinzley cleared Tomlinson for second as Mark Dahl started reeling Tomlinson for third. It soon became a three-car battle for fourth between Tomlinson, Drew Christianson and Marlyn Seidler. Seidler split the middle and took the fourth position. Near the end of the race, Keller started catching lapped traffic but Kinzley struggled to reel in the leader. Keller led all 25 laps and won by a margin of six seconds over second place Kinzley. Wedelstadt Holds Off Czarapata for First Modified Win of 2025

(May 9, 2025) — Tony Wedelstadt withstood a last-lap charge from former track champion Jason Czarapata to claim his first Friesen Performance IMCA Modified win of the season at Luxy Raceway. The Combined Locks racer launched to the lead at the drop of the green flag and built a sizable advantage as Czarapata settled into second. While Wedelstadt looked dominant up top, Czarapata began reeling him in during the closing laps, setting up a thrilling finish. Czarapata, the 2014 Luxy Raceway and 2012 Wisconsin State champion, made a bold move on the final circuit, but Wedelstadt held his ground, narrowly edging out the veteran racer at the line. Josh Long, the 2019 Wisconsin State titleholder, completed the podium after a consistent run in third. Janke Dominates Modifieds for First Win on New Shawano Surface

By Brandon Reichenberger SHAWANO, Wisc. (May 10, 2025) — After much anticipation, Mother Nature finally cooperated to allow 200 truckloads of new clay to be laid on Shawano Speedway. The new surface produced multi-groove racing, little dust, and plenty of speed as the Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds headlined the action-packed night. Tanner Janke made the most of the fresh track, taking control early and holding off a strong charge from Lucas Lamberies to secure his first Razor Chassis North Central Region win of 2025. Janke, who started on the front row alongside his father Gary Janke, jumped to the lead and built a sizable advantage before the first of two cautions flew for a spin by Jason Yeager in turn four. On both restarts, Janke maintained his composure and pulled away, despite pressure from Lamberies, who had charged from eighth. A final caution for Jerry Muenster set up one last restart, but Janke proved untouchable, pulling away to take the checkers.
