Fairgrounds Speedway signs New Race Promoters

Cortez, CO (Jan. 31, 2025) – BST Promotions is pleased to announce the partnership with Glen Brace to promote the races at Fairgrounds Speedway for the 2025 Race Season.  Joining forces will provide stability for the race program at Fairgrounds Speedway for the next three years. We have a tentative race schedule already put together; our philosophy will be quality over quantity.  BST and Brace’s mission is to work with surrounding tracks to maximize car count and fan attendance by not conflicting race dates.  All race dates are double headers therfore making it more convenient for racers.  Make your travel plans now!

Moving forward Fairgrounds Speedway will have an updated name of Cortez Fairgrounds Speedway.  Adding geographical location to the name will benefit the racetrack in many ways.  In addition to a new name, we also intend to give the facility a facelift.

Cortez Fairgrounds Speedway will continue with the IMCA sanctioning body.  Brett Root, IMCA President “I am pleased and encouraged with BST and Brace’s partnership.  We are glad racing will continue in the Cortez area.”  Also racing at Cortez Fairgrounds Speedway will be Dwarfs, Mod-Lites and Junior Compacts.  In 2026, we plan on adding ASCS Sprint Cars, NOW600 Micro Sprints, and DIRTcar Late Models to the schedule for the race season.

BST has been promoting events for nearly 36 years.  We have a great team of professionals consisting of Joe Bellm, Promoter, Rod Glenn, Race Coordinator, Suzan McCoy, Business Manager/Head Scorekeeper, and Andrew Struletz, Videographer/Marketing.  However, it is imperative to build a local team to fully staff the facility and run the races.  We are planning an Open House in March where everyone interested in Cortez Fairgrounds Speedway will be invited to attend.  At this event we will build a local team.  BST puts on a fast, fun, and entertaining show, you can expect it to start on time, run efficiently and end before 11:00 pm.  A beer garden, live music, and concessions will be a part of the night.  BST also provides livestreaming at their racetracks for those physically unable to attend the event.  The races can be seen on IMCA TV or www.BSTProductions.tv which will take you right to the event.

Glen Brace will be the local promoter at Cortez Fairgrounds Speedway. Brace and his family are sixth generation Montezuma and LaPlata County residents and have lived in the area since the late 1800’s. Brace has been around racing his entire life and started driving a Sprint car in 2012. Brace has traveled to numerous racetracks around the Country and has learned a lot about racing, racetrack procedures and track surfaces. In 2013, he started his own business and acquired Able Towing of Cortez in 2015. Able Towing has allowed him the opportunity to help law-enforcement, fire departments and local people in the community. Brace has many skills that will be beneficial for racetrack promotions.
