Spring Thunder special to open 2023 season April 30 at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (April 16, 2023) – The first green flag of the season is set to wave during Spring Thunder action Sunday, April 30 at Benton County Speedway.

The special event will offer increased prize money to a number of divisions that compete weekly at The Bullring. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds will vie for a $1,250 winner’s share and qualifying eligibility for this year’s Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational.

A hefty $1,000 prize will be awarded to the Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod winner, while IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars will compete for a $500 winner’s share, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks $400 to win and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts $250.

IMCA state, regional and national points will be awarded, as applicable, in each division. Track points will not start until Sunday, May 7.

Entry fees are $40 for Modifieds, $30 for SportMods and $20 for Stock Cars. There are no entry fees for Hobby Stocks or Sport Compacts.

Grandstand admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and veterans, and $5 for kids ages 6-14. Children ages five and under are admitted free if accompanying a paid adult. Pit passes are $30 for adults and $15 for those under 14.

Pit gate and grandstand open at 3:30 April 30, with hot laps at 5:30 and racing to follow.

Hibdon wins second straight at Benton County

By Jerry Mackey  VINTON, Iowa (July 12) – Fisher Towing & Recovery of Garrison sponsored the mid-season champion­ships at Benton County Speedway on Sunday night on a near perfect weather night for racing. The Bullring provided everything the race fan could ask for. The IMCA Modifieds saw Kollin Hibdon charge to the front from his third row start and take com­mand. Hibdon scored the win over one of the hottest drivers in the Midwest in Tom Berry Jr. Berry advanced from the eighth starting position but could not catch the strong running Hibdon in settling for second.   Twenty-seven Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod drivers signed in and the feature saw plenty of action. Legends, A.I.R.S. join IMCA Weekly Racing program this Sunday at Benton County

VINTON, Iowa (Apr. 24, 2024) – Following an exciting opener this past weekend, the IMCA Weekly Racing season will continue this Sunday, April 28 at Benton County Speedway. The five weekly classes will be joined by INEX Legends and American Iron Racing Series (A.I.R.S.) in their first appearances of the season at The Bullring. $1,000 to win IMCA Stock Cars headline May 22 action at Benton County Speedway

VINTON, Iowa (May 17, 2022) – A hefty payday will be on the line for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars presented by Vermedahl Logistics May 22 at Benton County Speedway. The Sunday event pays $1,000 to win and earns the feature winner qualifying eligibility for the B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational at this year’s IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
