Three IMCA divisions to Stampede at Southern Oklahoma March 16-18

ARDMORE, Okla. (March 7, 2023) – Three IMCA divisions get back on the track at Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s March 16-18 Southern Stampede special.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $2,000 to win and $200 to start on opening night, $1,000 to win and $100 to start on night two and $3,000 to win and $300 to start in their finale. 

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA South­ern SportMods vie for $1,000 to win and $100 to start Thursday, $750 to win and $75 to start Fri­day and $1,250 to win and $125 to start the Saturday show. 

Modified feature winners become eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, Stock Car feature winners for the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing Na­tional and Oklahoma State points will be awarded each night in all three divisions. Modified drivers also receive GRT Race Cars South Central Region points and Stock Car drivers earn EQ Cylinder Heads Southern Region points. 

Modified pre-entry is $75 for Thursday or Friday, $125 for Saturday or $175 for all three days. Stock Car and SportMod pre-entry is $75 for Thursday or Friday, $100 for Saturday or $150 for all three days. Drivers can register now on MyRacePass. Pre-entry ends at 5 p.m. sharp on March 15. 

Pit gates and the grandstand open at 5 p.m. each day. Racing starts at 7:45 p.m. 

Each race night program will be available on IMCA.TV, which also returns as broadcast partner for weekly race programs at Southern Oklahoma Speedway this season.

Ward stampedes back to winner’s circle at Southern Oklahoma

ARDMORE, Okla. (March 18, 2022) –Tim Ward raced his way back to victory lane while Blake Clark won for the first time at Ardmore and Tim Hamilton won for the first time in his IMCA career on opening night of Southern Oklahoma Speedway’s Stampede special.  Ward topped Friday’s $2,000 to win IMCA Modified feature, leading all 25 laps from the pole. Dove goes from IMCA Modified contender to winner at Jordan Page Winter Nationals

ARDMORE, Okla. (Oct. 10) – Going into the Jordan Page Winter Nationals weekend at Southern Oklahoma Speedway, Tommy Dove was hoping to qualify for the IMCA Modified main event.  Once that goal was accomplished, it took just a handful of laps before the Ardmore driver knew he could win it. Dove, making just his fifth start in the division in a car recently purchased from Tyler Stevens, raced from seventh starting to win the 25-lapper, passing William Gould on his way to the front and holding off another heavy hitter in Josh McGaha to stay there. Opening night moves to Thursday for IMCA All Star Shootout

ARDMORE, Okla. (May 25, 2022) – Rain had the final word and resulted in rescheduling opening night of the IMCA All Star Shootout.  The lidlifter for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Smiley’s Racing Products IMCA Southern SportMods moves to Thursday, May 26 at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. The event originally scheduled that evening at Grayson County Speedway has been canceled. The Shootout is at Texas speedplants Boyd Raceway on Friday, May 27; at Kennedale Speedway Park on Saturday, May 28; and at Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Waco on Sunday, May 29.  Modifieds run for $1,000 to win and Fast Shafts All-Star qualifying eligibility each night.
