IMCA.TV inked as presenting sponsor, Clash on the Coast adds more awards

BAKER, Fla. (Jan. 26, 2023) – The Clash on the Coast has signed on IMCA.TV as its presenting sponsor while adding awards from another four marketing partners for its inaugural run.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win at Feb. 27 and 28 shows at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, and March 3 and 4 shows at Southern Raceway in Milton. Purses each night total $7,500 with a minimum of $100 paid to start.

Drivers competing all four nights of the Clash on the Coast are eligible for shares of a $10,000 point fund. The top driver in points earns $2,500 with $1,500 for second and $1,000 for third.

“We’re gaining momentum every day. We’ve already got more than 35 drivers pre-registered,” reported Clash on the Coast Promoter Peyton Taylor. “I know a lot of people are looking forward to it. It will be a great time to enjoy a Florida vacation.” 

“Fast Shafts will give two drive shafts to the series champion. It’s neat to have them on board because the winner each night becomes eligible to qualify for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational, he added. “And Performance Bodies, Velocita USA and Wehrs Machine & Racing Products will give awards to mystery position finishers. We want to make sure guys who don’t win go home with something, too.”

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Dirt Works Eastern Regional and Florida State points, as well as series points will be awarded. IMCA.TV broadcasts each race program and nightly entry fee is $25.

Drivers’ meetings are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m. sharp all four nights.

Practice nights will be Sunday, Feb. 26 at Baker and Thursday, March 2 at Milton – no hot lap sessions will be held any race night – with drivers getting a day off to enjoy Florida with the family on Wednesday, March 1.

Mallicoat ends Florida roller coaster ride with IMCA Modified Clash on the Coast checkers

MILTON, Fla. (March 2, 2024) – His Florida roller coaster ride saw Izac Mallicoat end the IMCA Clash on the Coast on top. The 17-year-old speedster from Boone, Iowa, stayed close to leader Trevor Fitz the first 19 times around the track in the Saturday finale for Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds at Southern Raceway, and took over up front after Fitz fell off power on a restart. Fitz tops next level competition for IMCA Modified Clash on the Coast win

BAKER, Fla. (Feb. 27, 2024) – Trevor Fitz made the move to the Midwest from his native California looking to race with and win against next level Friesen Performance IMCA Modified competition. He did just that Tuesday, in Florida. The transplant to Marshalltown, Iowa, won the night two installment of Clash on the Coast at Northwest Florida Speedway, earning $1,000 and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. Fitz chased leader Tanner Barnhart into what quickly became lapped traffic. He was in the right place at the right time, running second when Barnhart couldn’t avoid hitting a spun car and the resulting chaos on lap 12. Winter Nationals sweep a Florida first for Taylor

MILTON, Fla (Feb. 25-26, 2022) – A spur of the moment decision to load up his IMCA Modified for a Florida vacation led to a storybook ending for Peyton Taylor.  Taylor topped both Friday and Saturday night Winter Nationals features at Southern Raceway, earning $1,000 for each checkered along with Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. The wins were his first-ever in Florida and came in his first visit to the Milton speedplant as well. “This was a spur of the moment deal. We got down there and A.J. Ward and William Gould were there and a lot of good local drivers were there,” said Taylor, from Batesville, Ark. “This is the first time we’ve been to Milton.
