VINTON, Iowa (May 18, 2022) – It will be an anniversary special to remember on Monday, May 30 as Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds run for $4,300 to win at Benton County Speedway’s 43rd Anniversary event.
WinneWinner of the Memorial Day feature at The Bullring earns Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational qualifying eligibility. With a purse of $18,000-plus, the main event also pays $2,000 for second, $1,500 for third and $1,000 for fourth, with a minimum of $400 to start.
Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods now run for $2,000 to win and a minimum of $170 to start their 17th Anniversary feature.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Modified Razor Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded. Winners receive six-foot trophies and also have their name engraved on a trophy to be displayed at the track.
Tow money is $100 for Modifieds and $75 for the Northern SportMods.
Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. with hot laps at 5:15 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $16 for seniors and veterans, $5 for students ages 6-14 and free for ages five and under.
Pre-entry is $45 for Modifieds or $30 for SportMods if paid by May 23, or $90 for Modifieds and $60 for SportMods on race day.
The first-ever IMCA Modified feature was held at Vinton in 1979. IMCA Northern SportMods have been sanctioned at Benton County since 2005.
Modifieds and SportMods each race for $1,000 to win during the Prelude program May 29. Sunday’s Modified winner also becomes Fast Shafts qualifying eligible.
Both May 29 and May 30 events will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.
