16 states represented at Batesville’s World IMCA Stock Car Championship

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Qualifying for the World IMCA Stock Car Championship presented by IMCA.TV gets under Wednesday night, with drivers from 16 states already registered for the $50,000 to win special at Batesville Motor Speedway. 

The top-paying event for The Class Too Tough To Tame brings the 50th anniversary season at Batesville to a close Oct. 13-16.

Thirty cars start Saturday’s main event, running for shares of a $125,000 purse with $15,000 paid to the runner-up, $10,000 for third, $5,000 for fourth, $3,000 for fifth and a minimum of $1,500 to start. 

Top two drivers from each of 15 heat races transfer to nightly ‘A’ features Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the top nine from those races advancing to Saturday’s big show. Third and fourth place drivers, fifth and sixth place drivers and seventh and eighth place drivers transfer to nightly “B,” “C” and “D” features to race for points. 

Tonight’s (Tuesday) practice session runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Pit passes are $20. Pit gates opens at 2 p.m. Wednesday and at 4:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. each night.

Pit passes are $35 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and $40 on Saturday. A week-long pit pass is $130. Grandstand admission is $15 on Wednesday and Thursday, $20 on Friday and $25 on Saturday.

Batesville building weekly race program with World IMCA Stock Car Championship

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The World IMCA Stock Car Championship presented and broadcasted by IMCA.TV will be more than the best-paying event for The Class Too Tough To Tame. Seidler finds success at Arkansas Spring Nationals

BATESVILLE, Ark. (March 22) – Marlyn Seidler had mixed success in his early-season IMCA Modi­fied foray to Arizona.  He traveled to Arkansas and Batesville Motor Speedway to get his first feature win of the year, and the 88th of his career in the division on Friday night. Seidler started on the pole and led all 25 laps of the star-filled Arkansas Spring Nationals main event. Jeff Taylor, Tyler Stevens, Kelly Shryock and Ken Schrader rounded out the top five. “Winning a race like this is a big deal for an old, gray-haired dirt farmer,” said Seidler, who earned $2,000 and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth along with the checkers. “There were a lot of good cars here and I’m grateful that I’m still able to run with these guys.” The North Dakota long tow had to beat Taylor to the first turn. Thornton takes opening night feature win at Race For Hope 74

(Sept. 26) – Picking up where he left off last year, Ricky Thornton Jr. raced to the opening night feature win of Mark Martin’s Race For Hope 74 at Batesville Motor Speedway. Thornton, who is the defending champion of the Race For Hope 74, led all 30 trips around the high-banked three-eighths mile clay oval en route to the Wednesday evening IMCA Modified win. “The car was really good tonight. I was able to jump out front and really run my own race,” said Thornton after the race. “We’ll probably make a few small changes for Saturday but we are ex­cited to roll from the pole.” The top eight finishers in the Wednesday qualifier are locked into Saturday’s $20,000-to win, 74-lap main event.
