Entries for Super Nationals soar past 700

BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 20) – Entries for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s are already at the lucky 711 mark.

As of 1 p.m. Friday, drivers from 25 states and Canada have confirmed that they’ll be part of the premier dirt track racing event on the planet.

Entries for the 39th annual America’s Racin’ Vacation® Sept. 6-11 at Boone Speedway now include 206 Modifieds, 176 Stock Cars, 134 Northern SportMods, 107 Hobby Stocks, 51 Sport Compacts and 37 STARS Mod Lites.

Late Models are not required to pre-register as part of the former Deery Brothers Summer Series structure.

That total runs more than 60 ahead as the same time last August and includes drivers from Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. 

Twenty-two states are now represented in the Modified field. 

Drivers must be licensed members in the division(s) they will compete in at Super Nationals and are required to register before their pit stall application will be processed as well.

Pre-registration is also a requirement to compete in the Sept. 4-5 Prelude at Boone. Both the registration form and pit stall application links are on Super Nationals menus on IMCA and Boone Speedway websites.

The Prelude and each night of Super Nationals will be broadcast by IMCA.TV.

NAPA Racing Fan Zone hosts busy slate off-track Super Nationals activities

BOONE, Iowa (Sept. 1, 2023) – The NAPA Racing Fan Zone will be the hub of off-track activities throughout the week of the 41stannual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Sport Compacts added to Sept. 5 Prelude at Boone

BOONE, Iowa – Mach-1 Sport Compact drivers will have another opportunity to race at Iowa’s Action Track before taking their turn on the big stage during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nation­als fueled by Casey’s.  The division has been added to the card for the Saturday, Sept. 5 Wild Rose Casino Prelude at Boone Speedway, running for a top prize of $150 and a minimum of $25 to start. Non-qualifier pay will be $25. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms North­ern SportMods complete the card.  Pit gates open at 2 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 3 p.m. Hot laps are at 4 p.m. with racing at 5 p.m.

Boone holds Season Championship night races

By Joyce Eisele BOONE, Iowa (Aug. 29) – Saturday was Season Championship night at Boone Speedway. The Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods ran 23 laps in their championship feature.  Johnathon Logue had the track title wrapped up before he started the main event but he would also go on to dominate the feature as well, leading the entire race and winning comfortably ahead of the rest of the field.  Jake McBirnie sat alongside new brother-in-law Tim Ward for the start of the IMCA Modified main.  Ward had the track title wrapped up before the race began but it was a battle between the two for much of the race with McBirnie holding the upper hand. Ward’s challenge for the lead disappeared when he slipped off the rim of the track, losing several positions. As the race continued on, McBirnie pulled away and take the checkers well ahead of the competition.
