VINTON, Iowa – Drivers in eight IMCA divisions eligible to do so must declare their rookie status by Thursday, July 1.
Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, eligible drivers who did not win national or regional rookie of the year awards in 2020 are eligible to compete for national and regional rookie honors. Drivers who did not indicate rookie status on their 2021 application can call the IMCA home office at 319 472-2201.
IMCA names national Modified, Late Model, RaceSaver Sprint Car, Stock Car, Hobby Stock, Northern SportMod, Southern SportMod and Sport Compact rookies of the year, and regional Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock rookies of the year.
A national rookie of the year will not be named in the STARS Mod Lite division in its first year of IMCA sanctioning.
