Harris Captures Final Fast Friday Victory at Dixieland Speedway with Virginia Sprint Series

By Jim Haines ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (July 17, 2026) — A hot, humid night and an early rain delay couldn’t keep the Racesaver IMCA Sprint Cars of the Virginia Sprint Car Series from putting on a show as Jerald Harris raced to victory in the final Fast Friday event of the season at Dixieland Speedway. Aaron Leach and Billy Hubbard won the heat races before Harris and Leach brought the field to the green for the feature. Harris jumped to the lead at the start with Leach settling into second and Hubbard running third. Hubbard soon worked his way around Leach for the runner-up spot while Caleb Harris began applying pressure for third. As the laps clicked away, Hubbard’s strong run came to an end when his car began overheating, allowing Leach and Caleb Harris to move up and set their sights on the leader. A quick caution for a stalled car bunched the field, but Harris was flawless on the restart and drove away to score his victory of the season. The Rockingham, Virginia driver [Read More]

Denning Charges From 12th for Davenport Late Model Victory

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (July 17, 2026) — Six Sunoco IMCA Late Model races have produced six different winners at Davenport Speedway this season, and Friday night’s feature continued the trend. Their feature also produced one of the night’s best races, as Jesse Bodin jumped to an early lead and paced the opening 10 laps before Nathan Balensiefen took command on lap 11. Twelfth-starting Travis Denning methodically worked through the field, grabbing the lead with eight laps remaining and staying there to the checkered flag. The Sterling, Illinois, driver earned his sixth IMCA Late Model victory of the season and first away from East Moline Speedway in 2026. Balensiefen finished second, Mitch Morris was third, Logan Veloz advanced from 10th to fourth, and Jayden Johnson completed the top five. Diercks Uses Unconventional Line for Modified Victory Spencer Diercks became the night’s only repeat winner in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds. Starting 10th, Diercks raced into the lead on lap 10 using an unusual line around the speedway, running the cushion in turns one and two [Read More]

Winebarger Wins Fourth Modified Nationals Crown at Grays Harbor

By Shaun Hulbert ELMA, Wash. (July 18, 2026) — Collen Winebarger etched his name further into Grays Harbor Raceway history Saturday night, winning the Modified Nationals to capture his fourth career victory in the prestigious event and tie Nick Trenchard for the most wins all-time. The Corbett, Oregon, driver piloted the Swan Island Sheet Metal No. 99X to the $7,500 victory in the 40-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, which served as a Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational qualifier. Winebarger had already secured eligibility to attempt to qualify for the event to be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September. California’s Ethan Killingsworth paced the opening 16 laps after taking the lead on the traditional three-wide start before Winebarger powered around him on the high side. Once out front, Winebarger set a torrid pace the rest of the way in the caution-free feature to earn his second DeVilbiss Racing Chassis Western Region victory of the season. Eston Whisler closed late to finish second, followed by Jesse Williamson, Killingsworth and Matt [Read More]
