IMCA’s best are at Beatrice for March 19-20 Spring Nationals

BEATRICE, Neb. – IMCA’s best will be at Beatrice Speedway on March 19 and 20, for the 28th annual Spring Nationals special.

IMCA Modifieds run for $2,500 to win, a minimum of $250 to start and Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berths in their Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20 features.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods vie for $1,000 top checks each night while IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks duel in $500 to win and Mach-1 Sport Compacts in $200 to win main events.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National and KMJ Performance Nebraska State points will be awarded in all divisions; Modifieds earn Jet Racing Central Region points while Stock Cars chase EQ Cyl­inder Heads Northern Region points and Hobby Stocks earn Big Daddy Race Cars Northern Region points.

Pit gates open at 3 p.m. and racing starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and racing starts at 4 p.m.

Social distancing guidelines will be in effect in the pit area, grandstands and catwalk. Pit stalls must be a minimum of 10 feet apart and spectator groups will be limited to no more than six.

Spring Nationals first for Grabouski with IMCA Modified, Stock Car sweep

BEATRICE, Neb. (March 20) – The leader in Spring Nationals career wins raced to a new Spring Nationals accomplishment Saturday at Beatrice Speedway. Jordan Grabouski won the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car for the first time at his hometown track’s season-opening special, then topped the IMCA Modified headliner for the record 11th occasion . “It was unbelievable. Olberding overcomes Septemberfest foes for first IMCA Modified win of 2018

BEATRICE, Neb. (Sept. 21-22) – The final night of Beatrice Speedway’s Septemberfest special was the setting for Kyle Olberding’s first IMCA Modified feature win of the season. Olberding’s flag-to-flag, Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying run to the $2,000 check­ers came ahead of a determined Shane Hiatt and helped right the 2018 ship some for the number 75 team. “It worked out perfect for us,” said Olberding, who ran 16th in his Friday night qualifier but finished second in his heat and drew the outside pole for the main event on Saturday. “We had a good car, we got a good start from the original green and led every lap.” Hiatt was following a higher line and made the finish uncomfortably close for Olberding. Perfect during regular season at Beatrice, Grabouski gets 200th IMCA Modified win

BEATRICE, Neb. – Jordan Grabouski is hoping two milestone achievements earned on the same night lead to a third accomplishment at the end of the season. Grabouski won his IMCA Modified career 200th feature on Friday, completing the rare feat of sweeping the regular season at his hometown track with his 11th victory in as many starts at Beatrice Speedway. The victory was the 27th of the year for Grabouski, running for a third national championship. “It’s always cool to win at Beatrice. This is the track where I grew up so it’s got a special place in my heart,” said Grabouski, IMCA’s national champion in 2011 and 2016. “I grew up watching a lot of great drivers at Beatrice.
