By David Smith, Jr., OKTidbits   HAYS, Kansas – A staple on the series schedule happens as the Lucas Oil POWRi United Rebel Sprint Series presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing heads to RPM Speedway this coming Saturday and Sunday for the 11th annual Wheatshocker Nationals.  This huge two-night IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event will be held in conjunction with the Ellis County Fair in Hays. Sunday night’s championship finale will pay $2,000 to the winner. STOCKTON, Kan. – The United Rebel Sprint Series braces for a huge, three-race weekend with the annual Bob Salem Memorial highlighting all the race action. It all begins Friday, Aug. 17 at Stockton Speedway before embarking to Oberlin Speedway Satur­day and Sunday, Aug. 18-19. It will be a pivotal weekend for the series points standings as just five events remain in the 2018 race season. Friday night’s IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car event atop the Stockton Fairgrounds will pay $700 to win. Gates open at 5 p.m. with race action slated for a 7:00 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday night for the annual running of the Bob Salem Memorial, the Saturday night’s portion of the event will pay $700 to win while Sunday night pays $1,000 to win.
