Davenport Speedway celebrates Aug. 21 Weedon Memorial, centennial

DAVENPORT, Iowa – Davenport Speedway combines two celebrations on a single night of racing, marking the 100^th year since the track opened with the 15^th annual Ronnie Weedon Memorial.

IMCA Modifieds race for $1,500 to win and a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot berth their draw/redraw show. IMCA Sunoco Late Models and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods are also on the Friday, Aug. 21 card.

There is no entry fee and pit passes are $30.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Side Biter Chassis North Central Region and KMJ Performance State points will be awarded.

Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing follows 6:30 p.m. hot laps. Grandstand admission is $12 for adults, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and free for four and under.

Deery Series begins drive to 500th event with Davenport, Maquoketa, Dubuque dates

DAVENPORT, Iowa (April 4) – A rich weekend kicks off the Deery Brothers Summer Series’ history-making 33rd season. Opening night takes the IMCA Late Model tour to Davenport Speedway for the $5,000 to win Rebel 5K next Friday, April 12. Completing the tripleheader slate are $2,500 to win events Saturday, April 13 at Maquoketa Speedway and Sunday, April 14 at Dubuque Speedway. “You’d be hard-pressed to find another series in America that can boast about their 500th event in series history. Three get first IMCA wins of season at Davenport

By Mike McGuire DAVENPORT, Iowa (June 1) – The Davenport Speedway kicked off the month of June in style Friday with three IMCA drivers collecting their first local feature wins of the season. In Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Model action, Chuck Hanna stole the show. Hanna easily won his heat race and then dominated the feature, leading 23 of the 25 laps. Hanna took the lead from Joe Ross on lap three and never looked back. Matt Ryan moved up through the field to record a second place finish. Joe Ross, Andy Nezworski and Rob Toland, completed the top five. The Eriksen Chevrolet IMCA Modified feature had a similar story. A lap six restart gave Eric Barnes the opportunity to pass Craig Crawford for the lead. Barnes led the rest of the way. $250 Sunoco bonuses for winners at Farley, Davenport and Marshalltown this week

VINTON, Iowa – The paydays get even better this week for a trio of IMCA Sunoco Late Model feature winners. It begins Wednesday evening at 300 Raceway in Farley as the IMCA Late Model winner pockets an extra $250 courtesy of Sunoco Race Fuels. Thursday night the bonus moves to Davenport Speedway, and the night begins with last Friday’s make-up feature. Then the pot gets richer as the next $250 Sunoco Race Fuels bonus of the season will be paid to the scheduled June 25 IMCA Late Model winner. The final bonus of the week will be presented Friday night at Marshalltown Speedway. Jet Racing celebrates 28 years of IMCA sponsorship

Czarneski conquers Stock Car feature at Casa Grande

The Denmark, Wisconsin driver delivered a stellar performance at Central Arizona Raceway, seizing the lead on lap nine and holding off all challengers to take the checkered flag. The race began with Jason Berg asserting himself as the early leader, setting a strong pace through the opening laps. However, the momentum shifted following a lap nine restart when Czarneski, running the top of the 3/8-mile oval without fear, powered around Berg on the outside to claim the top spot.
