VINTON, Iowa – Entries trend up again this season, as 16 chassis builders contend for national and regional honors in IMCA’s Manufacturer’s Cup contest.
Standings are again based on makes of chassis driven by top 10 drivers in each region. 2020 champions will be determined based on points earned in each of the five Modified regions while the builder with the highest overall point total will be named IMCA’s national Manufacturer of the Year.
The national Manufacturer of the Year receives a trophy while the top builder in each region receives a $100 cash prize and a plaque.
New to Cup contention is IRP Race Cars of Longview, Texas.
Along with defending national Manufacturer of the Year Rage Chassis of West Union, builders returning to the contest are Assault Race Cars and Victory Race Cars, both of Story City; B & B Racing Chassis of Belle Plaine, Minn.; BMS Race Cars of Albert, Kan.;DeVilbiss Racing Chassis of Farmington, N.M.; Dirt Works Race Cars of Oronogo, Mo.; GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, Ark.; Harris Auto Racing of Boone; Impressive Race Cars of Hillsboro, Mo.; Jet Racing of Beatrice, Neb.; Razor Chassis of Platte Center, Neb.; Shaw Race Cars of Batesville, Ark.; Side Biter Chassis of Clear Lake; and Skyrocket Chassis of Joice.
“Different builders won Cup titles in each region again last season and equally impressive was the fact that drivers winning regional crowns did so in different makes of chassis,” noted IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder. “Point races should be very interesting again this year, to say the least.”
And all chassis builders entered in the Manufacturers’ Cup contest have the opportunity to display a car at Boone Speedway during the Sept. 7-12 IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
