JEFFERSON, S.D. (May 8-9) – Anthony Roth brought the broom to Park Jefferson Speedway, sweeping $1,000 to win Spring Nationals features for IMCA Modifieds on May 8 and 9.

The 2019 Nebraska State champion and already a Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational candidate, Roth started from the pole and rumbled away to the opening night win after holding off challenges from track regular Chris Abelson and Colorado invader Ricky Alvarado.

Front row starters Jesse Skalicky and Daniel Gottschalk got things off to a roaring start on Saturday, sliding and shooting for the lead while Shane DeMey joined the fray. Roth then threw a go for broke slide in turn three entering in the fourth position and exited in first. It was a position he would not relinquish. DeMey was second and hard-charging Tyler Frye was third.

Shane Stutzman outran hard-charging rookie Justin Luinenburg and Taylor Williams for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car win on Friday. Luinenburg, a former Hobby Stock national champion, held off Travis Barker and Elijah Zevenbergen in winning the Saturday show.

Another Minnesota speedster, Malik Sampson saw challenges from all over the park as Jason Wilkinson, Jason Fusselman and local Zach Ankrum all took their shots at the lead before the visitor collected the opening night Hobby checkers.

Wilkinson held off Fusselman by all of .91 of a second to take the Saturday win. Craig Clift finished third.

The Zeitner name is famous at Park Jefferson Speedway as many a Zeitner has come through the gates and taken home the loot. Friday night was a new chapter as Kevin Zeitner added his name to the record books picking up the win in the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod main, ahead of Shawn Harker and Cody Thompson.

A barnburner unfolded on Saturday, as Harker got the win in front of Rusty Montagne and Jared Boumeester.

Corey Namanny got the Mach-1 Sport Compact win over Kaytee Devries and Bubba Brown on Friday.

The IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars saw a stout Saturday field take the green boasting former champions from multiple tracks. It was former Park Jefferson rookie of the year Elliot Amdahl who showed everyone the fast way around the track, roaring around the top side of the Union County oval and slicing and dicing in traffic.

Cody Ledger hammered up down and around lapped traffic to come in second and defending track champion Colin Smith came from 10th to finish third.
