$10,000 is top IMCA Modified prize at Marshalltown’s World Nationals

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – World Nationals wraps up the season at Marshalltown Speedway Sept. 12-14, with the IMCA Modified winner going home with a hefty $10,000.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods both race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win during Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14 programs.

Saturday’s Modified feature is a qualifying event for the 2020 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and E3 Spark plugs State points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Racing starts at 7 p.m. both nights.

Friday spectator admission is $15 for adults and $12 for seniors. On Saturday, admission is $20 for adults and $15 for seniors. Kids 10 and under get in free and pit passes are $30 both days.

The Thursday, Sept. 12 Cookies BBQ Sauce Kickoff to the World Nationals practice session runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Camping is $20 a night and showers and limited electrical hookups will be available.

Aikey, Carter cash in with IMCA Modified wins at World Nationals

By Joyce Eisele MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (Sept. 18-19) – Jeff Aikey and Cayden Carter were $2,000 IMCA Modified feature winners at Marshalltown Speedway’s 14th annual World Nationals. Aikey made it back-to-back trips to victory lane, following his Thursday night Dale DeFrance Memorial IMCA Late Model victory in the 500th and final Summer Series event. Carter joined Aikey on the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot with the Saturday checkers. Aikey drew the pole for Friday’s 25-lap feature and led the entire race to take the win. Carter and Ethan Dotson challenged Aikey several times, but he fended them off. Carter finished second and Dotson took third, followed by Todd Shute and 18th place starter Tim Ward was fifth. J.D. Auringer paced the opening laps on Saturday but Carter quickly moved from his fifth starting position and into the lead. Twin Highbanks Hustle this Thursday, Friday at Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – A pair of $1,000 to win Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying features for IMCA Modifieds are on Twin Highbanks Hustle cards this Thursday and Friday, April 26 and 27. IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $500 to win, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $300 to win both nights. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Iowa State points will be given each night with track points at stake as well on Friday. IMCA Late Models vie for a top check of $750, plus IMCA national, state and track points, on Friday. Shryock takes crown in King of the Highbanks at Marshalltown

The veteran from Fertile topped Friday’s King of the Highbanks main event for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars at Marshalltown Speedway, taking the $5,000 checkers ahead of defending race winner Jeffrey Abbey. Now guaranteed a starting spot in the B & B Racing Chassis All-Star Invitational, Shryock started from the pole and took the lead as the race went green, with Dallon Murty in second and Boyd, Texas charger Abbey third. Those three ran closely in the opening portion of the race, with Murty seeking high and low for a way around Shryock and Abbey just waiting for a bobble from either. South Texas IMCA Modified Series Ready for Sophomore Season

SAN ANTONIO (Mar. 14, 2025) — Race fans, get ready — the South Texas IMCA Modified Series is back for an action-packed second season in 2025! Ten races at five Lone Star State tracks are scheduled, starting March 28 at Heart O’ Texas Speedway near Waco, followed by I-37 Speedway in Pleasanton on March 29. Chris Tuchscherer: From the Octagon to the Race Track

BURLINGTON, N.D. (Mar. 12, 2025) — North Dakota’s Chris Tuchscherer knows how to race hard, achieve success, and persevere. His competitive drive stems from a background in wrestling, which began in his high school hometown of Bowman. Excelling at both the high school and collegiate levels, he wrestled at North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo and Moorhead State before stepping into the Octagon as a competitor in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
