Durbin Memorial set for May 15 at Stuart Speedway

By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (April 14) – Brayton Carter, Dallon Murty and Shane DeVolder were IMCA winners Wednesday at Stuart Speedway.  Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods came out first with the father/son duo of Bryan and Mitchell Morris on the front row. Bryan Morris led the first three laps with Carter blasting by to take over on lap four. It was all Carter from there as he went on to take the easy win. Brett Vanderheiden held on for second with Cam Reimers third, Dusty Masolini fourth and Garrett Nelson fifth.  Next up were the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars with Miciah Hidlebaugh and Todd VanEaton leading the field to the green flag. Hidlebaugh went for a spin in turn one and Bob Daniels took advantage to lead the field through a couple of cautions over the first half of the race. MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – Memorial Weekend Cornbelt Clash dates take IMCA STARS Mod Lites to Marshalltown Speedway, Boone Speedway and Stuart Speedway for $500 to win features each night. A minimum of $100 will be paid to start each May 28, 29 and 30 feature with a $30 entry fee each night.  Marshalltown opens the gates at 5:15 p.m. with racing at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Gates at Boone open at 3:30 p.m. and Saturday racing starts at 6 p.m. and on Sunday, gates at Stuart open at 5 p.m. and racing follows 7 p.m. hot laps.  The Yoshimura bonus will be paid on Sunday, with $250 going to the winner, $150 to the runner-up and $100 to the third place driver. The driver racing all three nights and finishing with the top point total also takes home $100 in cash. Other awards will be given by Hoosier Tire and Rod End Supply. By Josh Reynolds STUART, Iowa (June 21, 2023) – Multi-time and defending track champion Josh Gllman was the Friesen Performance IMCA Modified driver no one could catch Wednesday at Karl Chevrolet of Stuart International Speedway. Gilman led Drew Janssen and Martin Bennett over the first half of the race. Bennett faded as Canadian driver Isaiah Geisel got to third with five laps to go but there was no touching Gilman as he sailed to the 3.5 second win. Janssen finished second with Geisel third. The IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars saw Jeff Mueller use his front row start to rocket out to the lead. Buck Schafroth gave chase for the entire 20 laps but there was no catching Mueller on this night as he cruised to the feature win. Schafroth finished second with third going to Miciah Hidlebaugh. Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts saw Jeremiah Downing firing off from the pole. Anthony Clark and Kolby Sabin worked their way through the field with Sabin getting the advantage early on.
