US 36 Modified win goes to Clancy

OSBORN, Mo. (April 19) – IMCA Modifieds provided one of the best races of the night Friday at US 36 Raceway, with Chad Clancy leading the way in a green, white, checkered finish. 

Brandon Williams had led the first 15 laps of the feature with Clancy draped all over the inside corner panel of his machine for most of that run. While those two battled, Steven Bowers Jr. closed in and made it a three-car battle. 

The front three were primed for a battle to the end when the first caution of the race flew at lap 15. Clancy chose the inside lane on the Delaware double file restart. Bowers got the top and, on the restart, found the grip, shot around Clancy and crossed to the inside of Williams. He cleared for the lead in turn three as Williams slipped up allowing Clancy into second.

Bowers was set to pick up his second win of the season at US 36, as he took the white flag with a healthy gap. Then into turn one, it looked as though Bowers car lost power and spun slowly, eventually coming to a halt in the middle of turn one.

The caution flew, setting up a green, white, checkered finish with Clancy out front. He managed the restart and make his way to Westfall GMC victory lane. Cory Wray made a late run to finish second and Clay Hale finished third.

Mike Houseman Jr. dominated IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Car action for the night while Blake Peeler held off Carson Mason for the IMCA Sunoco Stock Car checkers. 

Chris Wright was the Karl Kustoms Northern SportMod winner.

Two nights of racing this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway

OSBORN, Mo. – Two big nights of racing are set for this weekend at U.S. 36 Raceway. This Friday, July 3, is the Budweiser Shootout. After two postponements, U.S. 36 has remained persistent in completing the Bud Shootout. The Sprint Series of Nebraska is once again prepared to make its first appearance of the season at U.S. 36 that evening. As part of the event, heat race bonuses are on the line for the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars. Winners will receive a $75 bonus. Second in the heats earn a $50 bonus with third picking up a $25 bonus. To complete the show, the IMCA Modifieds and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods will also battle it out on the high banks. 2019 drivers’ meeting set for US 36, Bethany

CAMERON, Mo. – The drivers’ meeting for the 2019 season at US 36 Raceway and Bethany Speedway is set for 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at the Cameron Community Center. The drivers’ meeting is combined for both race tracks so drivers can get all their paperwork completed for both tracks if they choose to. The meeting will allow drivers and teams to register their car and reserve pit stalls for the upcoming season. Registration for the 2019 season for IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars is $60 and $50 for Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods is $50. Pit stalls are $60 to reserve for the 2019 season. The meeting will also include a discussion on the updated 2019 general rules and teams can bring any questions they have. Greenwood wins biggest share of IMCA RaceSaver green at US 36

(April 14, 2023) – IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars attended from four different states, vying for the big money US 36 Raceway offered Friday night and the top check went home with Iowan Jake Greenwood.  At the drop of the green flag, Jacob Dye jumped to the front and appeared to have the car to beat before lapped traffic came into play and collected the leader, bringing his night to an end. Greenwood took the lead on the next restart and set a blistering pace, telling the other competitors “Catch me if  you can.”  Stu Snyder mounted a charge but could not match Greenwood as Tyler Drueke also moved toward the front. Greenwood never relinquished and pick up his first win on the high banks of US 36 Raceway, celebrating in Nextran Victory Lane.
