BRITT, Iowa (Aug. 11) – Following his latest visit to victory lane at Hancock County Speedway, Hunter Marriott could lay claim to a singular achievement.

Marriott topped Saturday’s Bob Shryock Memorial All Star event, a fast-paced IMCA Modified 40-lapper that ran green to checkered and paid $3,000 to win.

Marriott has now won all three of the traditional August specials at Britt … the Night of 1,000 Stars on Thursday, the Night of 10,000 Stars in 2016 and 2017, and now the Shryock

“We seem to get around that place pretty good,” acknowledged Marriott, who passed Jeremy Mills for the lead near midway and outran ‘B’ qualifier Ricky Thornton Jr. for his latest Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifying victory. “The racing is always pretty good there.”

While the fourth starting Marriott ran the lower line most of the way, he did go to the high side to get around Mills.

The sailing was mostly smooth from that point, although Thornton was cutting into Marriott’s lead the last 10 circuits while the leader worked through lapped cars.

Thornton, winner of Friday’s Night of 10,000 Stars, started 13th on Saturday.

Mills, 14th starting Richie Gustin and Mike Mullen rounded out the top five.

Ryan Ruter earned $500 for winning the Kody King Motorsports All-Star Dash.

Tenth starting Curt Lund took advantage of a late restart in winning the rescheduled Curt Palmer Memorial feature for IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and $1,400. Elijah Zevenbergen was runner-up in that race and also took the $500 checkers in the Palmer Memorial King of the Hill.

Chanse Hollatz and Colby Fett each earned $500 for their IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMod victories, respectively.
