Road to the Iron Cup round 2 set June 23 at Park Jefferson

JEFFERSON, S.D. – A $1,000 to win Road to the Iron Cup feature event for IMCA Modifieds is on the Saturday, June 23 card at Park Jefferson Speedway.

Jay Noteboom will also look to take the checkers and capture the second leg of the $25,000 Clean Sweep Sjogrensen Winery Bonus. Noteboom picked up the checkers in the first event held on May 26.

The Modified feature is a qualifier for the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot. IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts complete the sanctioned portion of the program.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional, South Dakota State and track points are at stake.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps slated for 6:30 p.m. and racing to follow. Spectator admission is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors 70-plus, $10 for students ages 6-16 and free for five and under.

Discounted tickets are available in advance through the track link on myracepass.com and are completely refundable in the event of a rainout.

There is camping available at the track on the north side of the parking lot.

JEFFERSON, S.D. – IMCA Modifieds and IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars headline each night of the upcoming Midwest Madness Tour presented by Western Iowa Racing Results. Beckendorf takes Iron Cup crown, Moore is night two IMCA Modified winner

JEFFERSON, S.D. (Sept. 14-15) – Gold and silver place finishes made Brandon Beckendorf the IMCA Modified champion at Park Jefferson Speedway’s fifth annual J&J Fitting Iron Cup Championship Night presented by I State Truck Centers. Beckendorf used multiple grooves to race from his 10th starting spot and win the Friday night feature, and $1,000. Already on the 2019 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot, he took the checkers ahead of Jim Thies and Bob Moore. Moore battled back to regain the lead from Beckendorf in winning the Saturday feature, earning $1,000 and the All-Star ballot berth. Third was Sean Barragan. Also scoring $1,000 wins on night two were Dusty Ballenger in the IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars and Elijah Zevenbergen in the IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars. Rain, rain, stay away from PJ!

(April 28, 2022) – Despite a less than ideal weekend forecast, Park Jefferson International Speedway is still planning on forging ahead with the 2022 Iron Cup on South Dakota’s fastest quarter-mile dirt tracks from Thursday, April 28, through Saturday, April 30. The weekend schedule includes a practice night tonight (Thursday) with qualifying for the J&J Fitting Iron Cup in Friesen Performance IMCA Modified, Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMod, IMCA Sunoco Stock Car, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stock and Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compact divisions on Friday. The Iron Cup Championship Night in all divisions is Saturday. Gates open at 5 p.m. with hot laps at 6 p.m. each evening. Postponement information if necessary will be released through local media and the PJIS website.
