Garnhart, Soppe score at Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 6) – Sunday’s Merfeld Brothers Auto IMCA Modifieds feature at Dubuque Speedway was another nail biter as several drivers took their turns at the front.

Bryce Garnhart battled with Austin Moyer for much of the 20-lap main event before crossing under the checkers ahead of Moyer. Last week’s winner Jason Schueller turned in another fine run in taking third.

Defending IMCA national champion Tyler Soppe scored the feature win in the 18-lap GSI Collision Specialists Northern Sportmod main event.

Soppe fought to the front from a fourth row start to score the win ahead of early leader Justin Becker. Scott Busch followed up last week’s win with a third place finish.

McCrady takes charge at Dubuque Speedway, Sunday shows will feature five IMCA divisions

DUBUQUE, Iowa – New promoter Nick McCrady has a to-do list that starts with putting on an entertaining race program each and every Sunday this race season at Dubuque Speedway. “This is an awesome facility and we’re excited to work with the fair board here. We’ve already gotten a lot of support from drivers and fans,” said McCrady, who also returns to the promoter’s post at Saturday venue Maquoketa Speedway. “We want them to know they’re appreciated and we want to put on a good show while we’re building car counts back up.” Five sanctioned divisions will run weekly at the 3/8-mile oval in Dubuque, the IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Late Models, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks and Karl Kustoms Northern SportMods. Maquoketa, Dubuque Deery events postponed

MAQUOKETA, Iowa (April 13) – Forecasts calling for less than pleasant temperatures Saturday and Sunday have resulted in postponements of Deery Brothers Summer Series events at Maquoketa Speedway and at Dubuque Speedway. Both IMCA Late Model tour events are to be rescheduled. The 33rd annual Deery Series now opens at Cedar County Raceway in Tipton with a $2,000 to win, minimum $300 to start main event next Saturday, April 20. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. with racing at 7 p.m. Spectator admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students and free for kids ages 12 and under when accompanying a paid adult. Fryer takes IMCA Modified win at Dubuque

By Rob Hinckley DUBUQUE, Iowa (June 2) – The track came to him. That is what Jaden Fryer wanted Sunday evening at Dubuque Speedway. The Freeport, Ill. pilot shot from the outside front row and held off track champion Bryce Garnhart and NASCAR and dirt legend Ken Schrader to win the Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modified 20-lap feature. “This was really special,” Fryer said in C&W Trucking/Hoker Trucking/Kam Koncepts Victory Lane. “It was fun getting the win and we worked hard.” Fryer and his team dedicated the win to a friend recently lost to cancer and had the car wrapped in her memory. Appelt Stays Perfect with Third Straight Nodak Hobby Stock Victory

(May 24, 2026) — The Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks produced one of the most exciting races of the evening Sunday at Nodak Speedway as Minot’s Caden Appelt charged from 12th starting position to collect his third straight feature victory to open the season. Ethan Beckedal paced the early laps before Saskatchewan’s Diezel Raynard worked his way into the lead. After going off the track in the opening corner earlier in the feature, Appelt stormed back through the field using the high side to perfection. Goodwin Scores Emotional SportMod Victory at McLean County

(May 21, 2026) — The 2026 season opener at McLean County Speedway delivered an emotional night of racing on Thursday, highlighted by Tim Goodwin’s inspiring comeback victory in the Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods. Goodwin, from Williston, battled through adversity throughout the feature. While challenging for the lead late in the race, he slipped into the marbles but managed to recover and regain momentum before charging back to the front with five laps remaining. From there, he checked out on the field to score his first victory since a devastating Highway 83 accident outside of Underwood on May 29 of last year that nearly claimed his life. Goodwin started third in the feature. Lance Lochtowe, who led much of the race, finished second ahead of Stan Tomlinson. Ferrando Flies to $2,000 West Coast Modified Clash Victory at Grays Harbor

(May 23, 2026) — The opening night of the 2026 West Coast Modified Clash at Grays Harbor Raceway brought 33 Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds to battle at the fast 3/8-mile clay oval. Scio, Oregon’s Grey Ferrando jumped to the early lead and set a torrid pace out front in the 30-lap feature. Behind him, Matt Sanders charged through the field from his 12th starting position in his Grays Harbor Raceway debut, climbing to second by lap seven while navigating heavy traffic. Sanders began reeling in Ferrando in lapped traffic and cut the lead down to 1.7 seconds before a caution slowed the field. Another quick yellow for Jesse Williamson tightened things up again, allowing Collen Winebarger, a late entry during the wheel of the Swan Island Sheet Metal-owned No. 99S, to work into third.
